Attractions of Hoi An #19 Central Market and Food Hall

The original French market was demolished in the late 2000s. Local fears were allayed with the building of this new structure which whilst remaining in keeping with the local architecture, offers a modern space perfect for its use.

This is the best place in town to sample some of Hoi An’s best known food dishes. With a dedicated vegetarian section its a must for any visitor. There are dozens of food vendors here and the atmosphere is bustling and noisy.

This is the biggest of all Hoi An’s markets and it sits at the eastern end of the Old Town. The sprawling market runs from the Cam Kim Bridge along the waterfront and nearly as far as the Museum of Folk Culture. The food market is in one of the two main central blocks. The other using the cloth market.

Tourists can expect to pay slightly higher prices than the locals do, it’s all part of the game.
