My dear foodies,

Today I bring you another rich totally vegan dessert, a few years ago it was a dream to eat vegan desserts, but as more people leave their meat habits, more people innovate in the gastronomic field, many people who suffer from diabetes have also benefited from these desserts. So what are we going to prepare? Well, a rich vegan custard, without lactose, without eggs and without animal bone gelatine, we can all eat it and be satisfied.

The classic custard was born in Spain in Catholic convents and its preparation was based on milk and eggs, spread throughout Europe, becoming popular in the Roman Empire, then in the American continent would provide a new ingredient, cornstarch, millions of eat this dessert with ingredients of animal origin, the grace for me is that you can make the same dessert without using ingredients of animal origin.

Vegan Custard (gluten-free)

My secrets INGREDIENTS

(for 2 portions):

♡ 400 g vegetable milk

♡ 35 g sugar

♡ 30 g fine corn flour (cornstarch)

♡ ½ vanilla pod or 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

♡ The skin of ½ orange well washed (optional)

♡ 1 tablespoon Cocoa Powder (for Cocoa Custard version)

PREPARATION

Preparation time: 10min
Cooking time: 10min
Total: 20min

If we get natural vanilla the first thing we'll do is cut it in half to remove the seeds, if we don't get natural vanilla we can use vanilla essence.

In our best pot we will heat the vegetable milk to high fire with our vanilla, this in order to aromatize it.

source

In another pot mix the sugar with the flour and some vanilla seeds, then slowly add the natural milk and stir well.
We will continue cooking, but this time at medium heat, if you want to add the orange peel, is a good time is not a problem, while we continue mixing repeatedly.

source

The main idea is to find the exact point when our mixture begins to thicken and when this happens quickly we turn off the fire and let cool.

My recommendations

This recipe is double serve to make vanilla custard and cocoa custard cream, all we have to do is replace some ingredients: for example, to make cocoa custard cream is necessary to replace the vanilla by a tablespoon of cocoa powder. The rest of the ingredients are exactly the same amounts.

The idea is that we prepare both custards of two flavors and combine them in a single dessert, you can put peanuts in grains or pieces of cocoa so we get a more gourmet look.

Benefits of vanilla

Vanilla is one of the most widely used ingredients in universal baking, let's get to know some of its benefits.

It is considered according to science as a powerful stimulant of the central nervous system, has analgesic and antiseptic effects.

It helps to alleviate heavy digestions or stomach pain, therefore helps to digest and metabolize food well, helping to combat the gases they produce.

It is an excellent natural remedy to detoxify the liver and gallbladder.

It is necessary that you buy the pod of this food because it is commonly counterfeited by artificial essences.

Studies indicate that it could help to reduce depressive states and help you concentrate better.

For centuries various cultures have attributed magical powers to increase libido.

So when you use vanilla think about what it can offer you apart from its exquisite scent.
