Rise up with a grateful heart and start this beautiful day with a glass of good-for-you plant medicine. Nothing better than to enjoy a green smoothie in the garden with the rays of the sun warming your cheeks.

SE-Asia definitely turned me into a morning person. Mornings are so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful here. And the best part, the sun isn't too strong yet so you can soak up your much-needed vitamin D for the day.

Vitamin D - Why You Should Soak Up Some Sun Every Day

Vitamin D is essential to our overall health. It regulates calcium and phosphorous absorption, boosts the immune system, and helps to build strong muscles, teeth, and bones.

Furthermore, many studies suggest vitamin D plays a significant role in the prevention of many diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), heart diseases, and bacterial or viral infections. These days, many people are vitamin D deficient. And most of them don’t even know it.

The best way to get enough vitamin D is through sun exposure. Hence vitamin D's nickname "sunshine vitamin." How much sun you need a day depends on many factors such as age, skin color, time of the day, season, and the use of sunscreen.

Vitamin D production only happens when your skin is unprotected from the sun. Soaking up at least 10 to 15 minutes of healing sun each day will give you enough of the sunshine vitamin. But do not forget, no sunscreen.

So if the weather allows it, make some time each morning to go sit outside with your green drink. Pure bliss!

But let's talk smoothie. Though this one might not be for everyone as it tastes quite green, I loved it! And it's so good for you.

Exciting mixture for today - can you say that one ingredient was dominant in taste? I can not possibly imagine how this smoothie must have tasted, so curious!

Great summary about our precious vitamin D! I just realized that I actually didn't get my daily dose of D today, so rainy here in Kuala Lumpur since yesterday and no sun in sight 🙈 I will try to remember to recharge tomorrow - Sunday seems to be the perfect time for that 😊

We had so much sun this week. Much welcome after 10-13 days of almost non-stop rain. As for the taste, I would say the celery came out most. Just love celery in green drinks.

That sounds like way too much water coming down on Cambodia. We also had some stormy weather the last days - Malaysian thunder can be quite intimidating, I have to say 😄

Celery is definitely a dominant component, in any dish in my opinion. Oh yes, in fresh juices it adds this salty, fresh flavor - I also really enjoy that taste! 😉

Same here. Love the lightning show here though. While they can be intimidating indeed, they are so beautiful too. Have a lovely day.

So true, I was always fascinated by stormy weather, thunder and lightning - I am curious what kind of powerful storms I am yet to experience, since the tropics are different in that regard compared to Germany 🙈

Hehe. True that. The storms in Belgium are nothing compared to what we get here.

Looks delicious! :) pink definitely looks more appetizing then the spinach, banana, blueberry, strawberry smoothie I had for breakfast, which looked like a brownish green, although it was super tasty. lol :)

Hehe. I bet it was super yum. Miss berries so much. Can't wait till we travel to Europe in a few months and stuff myself with them.

That will be a fun trip! I have never been to Europe! I can't wait to go someday!

Visiting family and friends once it gets quieter here. Always good to meet up with loved ones. If you ever plan on going to Europe I gladly give you some tips ;)

For sure! Always great to meet up with loved ones. hahah sounds good! Definitely someday! I would like to do a tour and bring my camera and kind of host a show where people teach me how to make their authentic dish. It would be a fun new segment for my cooking show. haha

Ha that would be lovely indeed. Looking forward to that. Def go to Italy. Love the food there ;)

I will for sure have to visit Italy some day! That would be awesome! Fresh authentic Italian cuisine...mmm

Fresh basil..... hmmmm. The thought just made me crave some....

What a mix! I haven't tried pumpkin before, but I love it! Hope all is well with you. Love your smoothie today!

Thanks dear. All good here. 2 dqys off and enjoying them. Are you still at your daughter's? I am so busy these days that it is hard to keep up with everybody :(
