Early Guy Fawkes
Pre Bonfire Night Fireworks
November the 5th is celebrated in the UK with bonfires and fireworks.
It is the day when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament with gunpowder and failed.
Since it falls on a Monday this year the main local fireworks display was last night, just up the road, at the country cricket ground.
We usually go out and watch from the road but his year we didn't bother so I've no photographs to show you.
This is one I took previously though, on the Enbankment in London. You can see the London Eye in the background.

We were still able to get plenty of the atmosphere from inside the house as the sound of the fireworks echoes well between the buildings. 😁

That seems like an odd reason for celebration, but why not? It would be amazing to see fireworks somewhere like London, someday.
I'm not very good at history @fotosdenada but I suspect there were two sides and the side that didn't support guy fawkes were in the majority and celebrated his failure.
Seeing he fireworks from The Embankment is a fun thin to do on New Year's Eve. Until a few years ago it was free but now you have to get tickets. It's not so much about the money as about crowd control I think.
Wow, we have just returned from the cricket field attending the fireworks display! This year we have made it all the way in, hahah. But the little one was not in the mood for the show. Now it is time to get fireworks with a discount for New Year's Eve!
