Some of the residents became quite good at operating their drone in hunter mode. It was kinda fun actually. A lot more exciting than using a rod and reel. If they happened to be seen by an outsider they wouldn’t draw any attention. What was unusual about an Eagle or a Blue Heron looking for dinner?



It was actually fairly amazing what an Eagle considered supper.

and other edible river life.

Smaller drones disguised as KingFishers caught frogs

or crawfish.

Sometimes they even harvested deer or other game animals that were trapped by the water on a soon to be submerged island or part of a levy. Aneagle is a fierce predator and can kill animals much larger than itself. The large Drone Eagles were much stronger than the real thing. If a hypothetical watcher were to see a Deer taken by an Eagle it would not arouse suspicion. Any deer or non aquatic animal stranded by rising water was doomed to drown. It was a mercy really.
