#25: Shelby: BrainStorming Continues
“Ok...the immediate emergency is taken care of” Shelby told the still assembled Dragon Force, it’s advisers and auxiliaries. “Next item on the agenda...is how do we handle it for the long term?”
“Do we really want a vixen among us?” The Dragon Lady muttered..barely loud enough to hear.
She was heard.
“What do you mean by Vixen?” Cody’s mother, Sheila, asked her. Sheila wasn’t too clear what a Vixen was...but she didn’t think that she liked the sound of it. Cody might get ideas. She KNEW how he was.
“A vixen is female fox?” Chad’s eyes were bright. “A Foxy Lady?”
Sheila frowned. She didn’t like that either. She had plans for Chad which did NOT include outside competition.
The Dragon Lady smiled. Not much got past her. She was well aware of Sheila’s intent...and approved whole heartedly.
“Not to worry dear.” she began to say...but was interrupted by Cody.
“MOM! “ Cody puffed up like a toad frog. “She’s only a BABY! She’s a baby Kitsune.”
Sheila...and everyone else in the room were out to sea...except for the Dragon Lady and Shelby. Shelby raised one eyebrow in question to the Dragon Lady who shrugged slightly in answer. Shelby took that to be a yes.
“A Kitsune is a Japanese female magic user” Shelby told his puzzled coworkers.
Puzzled frowns turned to happy smiles as the revelation was internalized...then turned to frowns again.
“That COULD be a problem”....Captain Parmalee didn’t sound displeased. In fact he sounded eager.
“In a Man of Steel...woman of Kleenex” sort of way? “ His brother Marc TwoFeathers answered.
“Uh...yeah.” suddenly Captain did NOT appear so eager.
“What these two boys are saying in their own cryptic fashion” the dragon lady told the rest of those who had heard the exchange “ is that the baby magi is a total wildcard. She’ll have the powers of Chad and Joshua..but no self thancontrol whatsoever.
That got everyone’s attention.

it's hard to tell what’s true or when they are lying isn’t it? It seems that they are more interested in influencing public opinion than they are reporting the facts.

that I didn't know

That explain many things I've heard...
the engritch language is full of surprises isn't it?
Started reading about Superman, then decided i really just did not care. I kind of sort of remember reading some of the comic books, then the TV series, but was more of a batman fan than superman fan.
As for the baby magi, well they will just have to learn to live with it.
oh you rillly Should read the part about superman...it might NOT be what you expect.
Pretty much what I thought. I may have read it a long time ago, in a steemverse far far away. back when I would boldly go where someone had been before. I never could figure out where superboy and supergirl came from, now well, Niven did have a different way of thinking.
I read it when he first published it.
I still get a giggle thinking about it.
The arrival of the heroine baby is causing some concern "worry" to the Dragon Force and more when it is heard that probably will not have control over the powers of the superheroine that is coming. How can this situation affect the lives of the characters? Will it help to withstand the current situation they have with the tragic floods?
Very interesting story will wait for the next installment.
