Free Coin of the Day 2/26/18: STOX, Earn 5 Free STOX Coins to Use Now

Today's free coin of the day is STOX. STOX labels themselves the "blockchain prediction markets platform." Their website explains the use of their platform to potential users as, "Build new markets, make predictions, trade with peers and make profit on one decentralised platform."

I have played around on this platform over the last week and a half so I do understand the concept and value of this project well. In short, on STOX you can use cryptocurrency to make predictions on select questions from a group of potential answers. The winning group wins the STOX pool for that question.

For example, let's say the question was "What will be the price of STEEM on 3/30/2018?" There would then be around 5-6 options to select. If only 10% guessed "over $10" and the price of STEEM was over $10 on 3/30 (I wish), then that group would win the whole pool of STOX that were bet on that one prediction.

One of the cool things I've seen on STOX is partnerships. For example, they partnered with an ICO to allow users to guess how quickly they would reach their fundraising goal. Not only will the correct bettors receive STOX, they will also receive some of the ICO's coins.

For this free coin giveaway, all you have to do is sign up for an account. I signed up, and immediately had 5 STOX available to use on the site.

The Coin

I like to evaluate the actual use of the coin and if it's needed, or even useful in some cases, before spending a few minutes of my time entering an airdrop. If a company has no use for a coin, they shouldn't be using one.

STOX is the currency used on the site to make predictions and to receive rewards. In this ecosystem, it has value and I think this is a strong use of the coin unlike some other projects we've covered on FCOTD.

Potential

Honestly, if it wasn't for the ease of use, intelligent design, and their ability to form partnerships for predictions, I would not think that this project has much potential at all. It's a very niche market, but by partnering with other companies and coins, this could even be a way new projects "airdrop" their coins. We'll have to see how it develops, but I would recommend trying it out and seeing what you think. I was certainly skeptical before trying out the platform.

Airdrop Requirements

This is not a traditional airdrop. You will receive your tokens (although not immediately transferable) upon signing up for an account on Stox.com. You can then use these tokens to make predictions. You don't have to use full coins when making predictions. I played around with using .10 and .20 to make my 5 coins last a little longer and to make more predictions on the site.

As with all projects, cryptos, and ICOs, make sure you are using the right links and not visiting spam domains created as a scam. Airdrops and bounties give free coins in exchange for trying out a new platform, signing up for a newsletter, etc.

You do not have to purchase coins to be eligible for this coin giveaway. Airdrops/bounties are separate from ICOs where you are paying money (sending cryptocurrency) in exchange for coins that will be sent to your wallet once their sale is complete.
