Free Coin of the Day 2/19/18: SHPING Airdrop, How To Enter for Free Coins

Today's "free coin" is SHPING. The purpose of the platform and coin is explained very nicely on their website, "scan any product barcode using the Shping app to learn what’s in it,where it’s from and if it’s authentic. Discover other people’s experiences and reviews and earn Shping coins as you go." This is one of the better pieces of copywriting I've seen on an ICO's homepage. Pretty clear and straightforward, so let's move on (and feel free to read more here: https://www.shping.com/).

I like to evaluate the actual use of the coin and if it's needed, or even useful in some cases, before spending a few minutes of my time entering an airdrop. If a company has no use for a coin, they shouldn't be using one. SHPING will use their coin (same name) as a way to reward users on their platform, which is pretty standard, just like how Steemit uses Steem to reward content creators.

Ecommerce is big business and there is a lot of room for improvement, especially with integrating blockchain technology into ecommerce. This is part of the reason there has been a lot of speculation that Amazon will soon adopt a cryptocurrency.
Rewarding shoppers for scanning barcodes and for leaving reviews (Futourist.io is doing this just for reviews) has a lot of potential as a concept. After all, why would anyone use another service that isn't paying them unless they get better intrinsic rewards (like the other platform much better, all of their friends are on the other platform, etc.). Execution is everything, but I do think the potential here is big if done right.
Although their team is difficult to find on the official SHPING website, I was able to find their team here: https://icobench.com/ico/shping/team, and they look to have a solid group of people overseeing this project.
Airdrop Requirements
To enter the airdrop, visit the SHPING airdrop sign-up page (referral link: https://airdrops.shping.mo.works/sign-up/bssssz), join their Telegram group (must have a Telegram account to apply), and enter your ERC20 compatible account address (only use your public key, I use MyEtherWallet) so you can receive your coins after the airdrop is over.

As with all projects, cryptos, and ICOs, make sure you are using the right links and not visiting spam domains created as a scam. Airdrops and bounties give free coins in exchange for trying out a new platform, signing up for a newsletter, etc. These are different from ICOs where you are paying money (sending cryptocurrency) in exchange for coins once their sale is complete.
