Free Coin of the Day 2/24/18: Wawllet Airdrop Contest, How To Enter

Today's free coin of the day is Wawllet. Wawllet describes themselves as the "World’s first multi-asset wallet and personal financial passport." This secured wallet, without directly holding your assets, will be designed to allow you to manage your assets (fiat, crypto, gold and debit card accounts) through a single app on desktop or mobile.

Here's a little bit more about what they're trying to do directly from the Wawllet whitepaper:

The WAWLLET platform would support a global network of banks, exchanges and other financial institutions, bridging the gap between legacy mechanisms and blockchain technology as well as between traditional markets and crypto markets. The platform would enable individuals to interact with banks and financial service providers and conduct transactions in a fast and easy way.

The other main function of WAWLLET, mentioned briefly above, is to provide a "multi-asset wallet (that) will be powerful and flexible enough to allow users to manage all their assets from a single mobile or desktop application."

The airdrop is extremely easy and can be entered via a very brief one-form document (see "Airdrop Requirements" below).

The Coin

I like to evaluate the actual use of the coin and if it's needed, or even useful in some cases, before spending a few minutes of my time entering an airdrop. If a company has no use for a coin, they shouldn't be using one.

I did not understand the function of the coin based on the website, so I went to the whitepaper. View the image below:

To sum up that mess above, it will be used to pay fees. The coin really doesn't sound all that exciting, but the value will still be tied to how popular Wawllet becomes, and if they deliver on their promises, this could still be a solid coin to own in my humble opinion (I am most certainly not a financial advisor, nor am I a cryptocurrency expert, I'm just an enthusiastic participant).

Potential

We all know it -- managing our assets and transferring them is a pain, risky, and time-consuming. This project could fill a significant painpoint in the market. I'm a little hesitant to believe that financial institutions will jump on this project and start using this service even though they know the crypto world is here to stay (well, not all of them accept that fact).

They are taking a proactive approach to security, but this will be an attractive target for hackers, spammers, and scammers.

This image excites me and scares me at the same time (mostly excites). I will likely be an early adopter but will first research the project more, including how they secure accounts. Even if a hacker couldn't steal my balances, I would not want all of my assets to be seen or known by anyone else.

Airdrop Requirements

This is an airdrop "contest," but it's unlike other airdrop contests where you can earn additional entries for promoting their project on your social media channels. The Wawllet airdrop is simply an entry form for a token "contest." There is a likelihood that you will not receive any Wawllet tokens, however the sign up process takes no longer than a minute.

To enter the airdrop, visit the airdrop form (https://www.wawllet.com/airdrop) and provide your email and ERC20 compatible wallet address (public key), and that's it. Just over 10,000 people who enter the airdrop will receive free tokens from 10 to 5,000.

Currently, there are over 13,000 participants (so at least 3,000 won't receive coins), but this is a random contest and not based on first-come first-serve. Because of the potential of the product and the simplicity of the airdrop, even though there's a chance you won't receive coins, this was an easy choice for me to enter, and to add to the Free Coin of the Day Series.

Links

As with all projects, cryptos, and ICOs, make sure you are using the right links and not visiting spam domains created as a scam. Airdrops and bounties give free coins in exchange for trying out a new platform, signing up for a newsletter, etc. These are different from ICOs where you are paying money (sending cryptocurrency) in exchange for coins that will be sent to your wallet once their sale is complete. For an airdrop, you should ONLY provide your public key and not send any coins to anyone. Here are the links for this project and airdrop:
