Your scathing critique is requested.
Sorry I don't go to the subject. But thank you very much for the generous delegation of Steem Power, it really is appreciated. Seriously, very thanks.

Let me know what you think of the vid when you get a few minutes!
And, you're more than welcome!
Sure buddy.
Hi @logiczombie,
Thank you for the support. I will share my thoughts on this topic to the best of my ability. I watched the video, and this is my perspective on ideologies/belief systems, and "truth."
"When ideology becomes foremost, morality becomes secondary." -futuremind
I think this gentleman did a nice job of exploring these concepts in the video, and I really liked the concept of "super normal stimuli." To observe modern day society, and how normalized these stimuli are without much thought given, it's become like a facet of human evolution. When I was a child it was normal to hear "don't spend too much time on the screen, it's bad for your eye's", now it's normal for people to spend the majority of their existence on screens, and you simply don't hear statements like that anymore. Was it accurate? I don't know, but it seems logical that too much time on a screen is not good for your eyes.
My opinion on ideologies and polarization is maybe a little broad. I think there are some natural components present, intelligent species with the capabilities to think and reason are going to clash and disagree on things. I also think much of it is by design, to keep the polarization flaring. It is easier to control humans that are divided. (that would be an opinion I suppose, but a twig is easier to break than many twigs in a bundle)
It makes me think of the saying "I could sell a blind man sunglasses" What I hear is "I am good at manipulating people." Would sunglasses be any good to a blind man? Probably not, but given the right variables, a blind man might truly believe those glasses are good for him.
Truth in today's environment can be almost anything you want it to be, and there is plenty of information available to "piggyback" off of to prove ideologies.
What is true enlightenment? I'm just a mere human who does not have the answer. I think the wise realize how little they truly know.
Let's take the red pill, or maybe the grey one? ;)
Well stated.
Thank you my friend. I appreciate you taking the time to read and share some thought provoking content with me. I'm very busy and backed up with many things at the moment, both online and real life, so it might take me some days to digest and respond, but I will definitely be taking a look and will share my thoughts! Always a pleasure to explore things with you!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
I appreciate everything you've done for me.
Or maybe the orange pill, or the mauve pill, or the indigo pill?
Hahaha, I prefer cannabis over pills 😛

The culture war is simply the logical next step of the cold war, it is its continuation by technological means. What we are seeing is the evolution/decay (blue/red pill), or rather, change (gray pill), of western society gradually towards a new social order.
Society is changing from the oligarchies (government of few) bipartisan and bipolar of the past, to true multipolar democracies (government of many). The same process that already happened in Latin American countries for example, only through technological means.
This time it is a war of many and not a few as in the past, and in the same way, it is only a cultural and not physical war, as was the cold war.

It certainly looks this way. Somebody needs to do something about it.
Do you have any suggestions?
I hear people talking about this change and I know people like the producers of the video are doing great work with their workshops and more, but the reality of multipolar- govt of the many still looks like a long way off in the distance to me.
I still have no firm idea about what actions I need to take that will help crystallise such a structure
Just see how European governments that are already governed by coalitions work, and see how Latin American governments that are already democracies or have been democracies work. The dynamics will be similar, left against right, or really, the majority against minority, because the majority will have the power, and it will be who decides what to do and how to do it.
when looking at the UK, Australia and New Zealand there is becoming less and less differance between the parties. Slowly slowly it looks more and more like its a game of the Government against the people as Globalization increases.
More and more people will be vs someone, than parties against parties, as in the past.

Will have to watch this later this week. Was only popping on for a moment and noticed your delegation (via Steemworld) and comment elsewhere and wanted to respond to thank you.

I disagree that "sensemaking can't be simplified" (the three rules of civil debate are quite simple) and I disagree that debates are always better "face to face" (and or always counter-productive (you just need better rules)), I also disagree with his attempt to contrast "truth" and "truthfulness". I think what he calls "truthfulness" is better described as "sincerity" (and of course, sincerity does not equal truth).
It also reminds me of "truthiness" which describes a statement that "feels true" and is thus accepted as true without proper examination.
They also neglected to point out the very important danger of inadvertently forming a "cult of personality". By revealing their face and name, I believe there is a strong human tendency to "trust" a person (instead of one specific idea at a time) uncritically (100%) after an initial skepticism.
I also liked their theme of "coherence", I'm a huge fan of this.
HOwever, every time I hear someone say "objective" or "unbiased" my logiczombie sense throws a huge red flag.
@ 9:45 ''Í don't want them to defer their sense making to me...…….'' resonates with me so strongly.
