Redcliffe.
The Redcliffe Jetty was the starting point for my Wednesday Walk. The most difficult part of this walk was deciding which direction to take. North or south?
I don't usually drive to start my morning walks but when I want to have a dip in the lagoon before going home, I will take the car to the center of Redcliffe where the jetty is situated and follow the picturesque waterfront in either direction.
The first Redcliffe Jetty was reconstructed after a lot of deterioration, then in 1976 a cyclone ruined the second one and in 1999 the third jetty was built. A short walk along the water front takes me to the lagoon.
It is very popular this time of the year and that is why I prefer to have a swim early in the morning; to avoid the crowds.
This is the view to Moreton Bay from one of the covered picnic gazebos.
I can always count on meeting ibis birds wherever I go in Redcliffe and this group of ibis were feeding at low tide and creating reflections in the shallow water.
Suttons beach is the next suburb heading south and the Sutton's Beach Pavillion is a favourite venue to visit, particularly in the weekends where many day trippers gather to re-charge their batteries with meals, snacks or drinks. The restaurant features the finest of local, fresh and seasonal products and are open for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Diners have the option of eating in or ordering take always meals. When dining in, customers can choose Australian & International wines, beers and ciders to accompany their meals. Or course the main draw card is the uninterrupted views across Moreton Bay.
Not far from the Pavillion I come across a child's bike with the helmet draped casually over the handle bars. It's not hard to guess where the rider has gone. The beach is very safe for children as their are no rips or major waves to deal with.
School's out during the holidays and two siblings are drawn to the edge of the water at the end of a concrete lookout point.
It's time to turn back and complete my morning exercise with a dip in the refreshing lagoon. There are a number of retirees 'swimming' or having their daily catch up with others before the sun beats down with a ferocity that will compel many to turn on their air conditioners in order to get through the day.
The jetty markets which are held on Sundays are popular with locals and visitors. Redcliffe is situated approximately 28 kilometres north-east of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. It has been called “the red sand fringed Peninsula” and was originally named by John Oxley as “Red Cliff Point.”
I love Redcliffe and am so glad we chose this city to settle in after immigrating from New Zealand, thirty years ago.
THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

I certainly wish I could join you on your walk and for your swim! What a wonderful way to start the day!
Oh.....that would be wonderful Melinda. Somehow I don't think we'd struggle to find shared interests to chat about. One day maybe.......
That would be grand, wouldn't it?
It sure would. I'd really enjoy taking you around and showing you the sights Melinda.

It looks very pretty there. I miss palm trees, even though most of them were imported species in southern Spain.
It is a very pretty place @fotosdenada. The winters are just perfect but the summers can get a little too hot at times.
Congratulations @trudeehunter! You received a personal award!
