'Miniature Roses.'

These beautiful miniature roses were captured at the Tamborine Botanic Gardens. Hundreds of species and thousands of cultivars exist today. Roses are versatile plants as they can be grown as shrubs, or as climbers and their sizes range from large to miniature.
The fruit of the rose is known as rose hip and many contain a rich source of Vitamin C. Fruit eating birds such as thrushes and waxwings love the hips and the seeds are dispersed via their droppings.
Although many are grown for ornamental purposes, roses are cultivated commercially for their perfume and for the florist industry. Perfumes are made from the oil of the rose and the another product extracted from them is rose water which is used for cooking, cosmetics and medicinal purposes.
