Chapter 13

The coach dismissed the class after choosing the top ten. He then told Dylan, and rest to meet him at the auditorium tomorrow morning.

After leaving the training ground, Dylan, fatty Jing, and some of their classmates went straight to the school's cafeteria for lunch.

"I wonder if she had lunch already..." Dylan thought to himself. For some reason the cafeteria reminded him of Dianne.

As they were eating the group converses, and laugh from time to time. Dylan not really interested in the conversation topic focuses mostly on eating, while answering random questions thrown his way. Overall the atmosphere in their table is quite good.

Unfortunately, good things always come to an end. In their case the end come from a group of guys who for some reason approaches their table looking for trouble. No, to be precise they are their to trouble Dylan...

"Are you Dylan?" A slightly good looking guy with blonde hair asked mockingly.

"Hm?" Dylan looked at the blonde guy, and nodded. After that he resumed his meal.

Being personally named, Dylan knew that this blondy have no good intention, especially if one factor the mockery in his voice. So Dylan did not have a good opinion of the guy.

Seeing that he is being ignored by a guy he cinsidered inferior, blondy fumed, and slammed his right hand on the table.

"I'm talking to you! How dare you ignore me!" Blondy said in rage.

This action startled the students eating at the cafeteria. And looked at these people wirh interest.

Dylan, and his group looked at the group perplexed. Fatty Jing being the outspoken one didn't mince words and said in a loud voice, "what the hell is wrong with this retard?"

The cafeteria was silenced after hearing what fatty Jing said. Blondy, and his group was especially dumbfounded of this. Moments later the blondy recovered, and yelled, "how dare you!"

Fatty Jing harrumphed, and said,"well I dare! Got a problem with it, blondy?"

"Why? Did my words hurt your feelings? Well too bad for you! I don't care who you think you are but you dare ruin our lunch time? You're asking for a beating!" He added.

The blondy almost puked blood. Not even his parents talk to him like that yet a mere fatty actually did!

"You're seeking death!" Blondy rages, and was about to pounced fatty Jing when Dylan interfered.

"Stop! We're inside the cafeteria, if you wanted to fight, let's go to the training ground." Dylan said calmly as he ignores everyone's stare.

He then proceed to the counter, and apologized to the frightened cafeteria staff. Even though they worked at a school for awakened beings. Most staff members with the exceptions of the teachers, and security personnel are just normal people who failed to awaken. Thankfully it is against the law to cause trouble for the common folks. This law was enacted after some arrogant, and deranged [Blessed] caused the death of several thousand normal civilians—resulting in a very tense situation between the two forces.

Despite the power of the [Blessed], they are still outnumbered by the common folks by a lot. What's more there are also a lot of influential people among them that the new world government cannot ignore—especially the scientist, and inventors who brought new innovation to this new era.

With the threat of boycott from this people, and the overwhelming number of civilians, the new government decided to execute those trouble making [Blessed], diffusing the tense situation slightly. But this is not enough, so the world government enact laws that would protect the safety, and rights of the common folks. The new laws pacified the anger of the unawakened beings, and from then on, the [Blessed] no longer dare to trouble them—at least not in the open.

Dylan already knew why blondy, and his group are causing trouble for him. It obviously have something to do with Dianne. This is due to the rumor that he, and Dianne are dating. Most likely, the rumor had erked Dianne's numerous admirers, and pursuers. So without speaking, he signaled blondy, and his group to follow them if he dares, which blondy did so with a snort.

After they left, the cafeteria explodes with activity. Most diners quickly followed, curious how things are gonna end.

On the training ground, Dylan, and his group looked at blondy's gloating group without much emotions. Instead most of their attentions are on the large crowds that came to watch the fight. Heck! Their are even people who brought colas, popcorns, and hotdogs!

"The hell? Do these guys think they're watching a show or something?" Dylan, and his group thought as they observed this ludicrous scene.

Blondy, who have been ignored all this time, almost explode, but he held himself back.

"Did you know why we are looking for you?" Blondy asked while looking at Dylan like a predator. "It is because—"

"Are we gonna fight or what?" Asked one of Dylan's classmate named Ed, a guy with below average height. The current rank #7 of their class.

"Shut up! Let me finish! Like I said the reason is because—" said the interrupted blondy.

"...it's because of Dianne right? You guys are jealous because Dylan's currently going out with Dianne right?" A cute girl with sharp eyes called Nami sneered. Class rank: #5

"..."

"..."

Being interrupted twice, everyone looked at blondy with pity. This blondy obviously wanted to act show off, and act cool. Unfortunately for him he choosed the wrong targets. Dylan's group actually consisted of their class's current top rankers. And these guys have quite the personality as well. What's more they are pissed by the pitiful blondy's arrogance.

Blondy was so angry that one can almost see the steam coming out from his body. He pointed at Ed, and Nami in anger but the two simply ignores his rage.

While the two group are in stalemate, several teachers arrived, and among them is their class coach.

"Oh? So it's you guys?" The coach asked in surprise. He heard that two group of student had a conflict inside the school cafeteria, and as one of the teachers currently present, he was tasked to preside over the conflict.

"Coach!" Dylan, and the others pleasantly exclaimed.

"So what's the reason for the conflict?" The coach asked.

"Let me explained, coach..." Vivian, the class rep, and the current ranked #1 stepped forward, and explain the situation.

After hearing the explanation, the coach, and the other teachers gave Dylan several thumb up.

"Not bad!" They said

Dylan wanted to retort that everything's a.misunderstanding but knew that the more he denies the rumor, the more the people will think it's the truth. This is just how people are...

"Okay, since you guys are already here. It means that this cannot be settled with mere talks, right?" The coach asked despite already knowing the answer.

"No!" But group answered.

Nodding, the coach asked everyone not to go too far, and avoid crippling, or killing their opponents. Everything else is fair game.

With the permission from the teachers, both group looked at the other side with hostility. And then...
