Chapter 12

After the whistle was blown the Dylan, and his opponent dashed at each other. But as they are about to clash, Dylan disappeared! The opponent was momentarily startled but recovered quickly. He then rotated, and slashed!

CLANG!!!

There weapons clashed, forcing Dylan to take several steps back before disappearing again.

The blade-wielding guy scanned his surrounding, and then roll to side!

Dylan clicked his tongue after his surprised attack missed.

"How troublesome..." Dylan thought. "It seemed that I've been studied thoroughly."

Dylan can't help but mentally shake his head. Having your classmates as opponent is indeed very troublesome. Despite the fact that his presence in class is almost neglible, his classmates still studied his fighting style just so they could find holes in his fighting style. Well, he can't really complain as he did the same.

"I guess this is the problem if you're one of the two assassins in class," Dylan contemplated.

His opponent on the otherhand was not having it easy too. Dylan's [Misdirection] is very troublesome. And his ability to hide his presence, and disappear fr one's sight is extremely troublesome. Not to mention his really good at fighting too, and Dylan's physical strenght is not something to laugh at.

The two stared at each other wearily but this doesn't last long as Dylan initiated hus attack.

Dylan cannot afford to make the fight longer as the longer the fight goes, the less effective his [Misdirection] become.

So Dylan decided to use one of his [Shadow Doppleganger]'s ability and Dylan disappeared again. But this time it his disappearance did not last long as his opponent sense his presence, and stabbed!

STAB!!!

The stab went through but Dylan's opponent did not get the feeling of hitting something. No, his attack just went through without hitting anything, and due to the force of the stab, the attacker lost his balance!

"Not good!" Dylan's opponent exclaimed as he tried to regain his balance but it was too late as a shiny blade was held against his neck...

"You've lost," Dylan said.

Sighing, Dylan's opponent could only surrender helplessly.

"I've lost..." he said.

The coach looked at Dylan with interest, and announced the Dylan as the winner.

After helping his classmate get up, Dylan walked away from the makeshift stage. He was then greeted by a shocked fatty Jing.

"Hey, did you just get stronger? And what the hell was that shadow figure earlier?" Fatty Jing asked with curiousity.

"That's a secret. Don't forget that we might face each other next." Dylan answered with a smile.

"Damn it! How could you doubt your brother like that? Do I looked like the type that would do such a thing?" Fatty Jing asked with faked anger.

"Yes!" Everyone around answered.

"Shut up! No one's asking for your opinion!" Fatty Jing retorted, resulting in a burst of laughter from everyone.

"Fine. But it's obvious that Dylan awakened his second ability. Isn't that right Dylan?" A girl in ponytail called Vivian looked at Dylan asking for a confirmation.

Dylan is not surprise that his classmates noticed the fact that what he used earlier have something to do with his second ability.

"Yeah." Dylan answered, and then shrugged.

"Ooohhhh!!!"

"Wow!"

"So fast?"

"Amazing!!!"

Dylan's confirmation resulted in varied reactions. But they were just slightly shock, and did not find it surprising. After all it's normal for a [Blessed] to have his or her second awakening before reaching twenty. Of course people who failed to have a second awakening all their life is pretty common too.

As Dylan did not say anything about his new ability, his classmates did not asked as well, even the all too curious fatty. After all it's normal for a person to hide their abilities.

After that little hubbub, everyone returned their attention to the next match.

Matches after matches are held in quick succession. And very soon Dylan found himself face to face with a certain fatty Jing.

But contrary to expectations, the match dud not last long as Dylan made a quick work of the fatty. Finishing it with a kick to fatty's backside.

"You bastard! Stop kicking me on the butt! What do you have against my butt? Why do keep kicking it!!!" Fatty Jing fumed, which Dylan chooses to ignore. Surely he couldn't say that it's an obvious target could he?

Ignoring fatty Jing's ranting, the matched continued, and soon it is hus turn again. But this time his luck was not good as his opponent is their class representative, Vivian. And like Dianne, she too is a prodigy, and a beauty, only less popular.

The two faced off in an intense match. But in the end Dylan lost as Vivian, just like him had had her second awakening. And she had her second awakening much earlier than him. Of course the real reason Dylan lost is because he did not use his [Shadow Doppleganger's] true power. He only needed to be in the top ten, and was not aiming for the top spot.

Before long the top ten was choosen, and both Dylan, and fatty Jing is among them.
