You and everyone you know are going to be dead soon. And in the short amount of time between here and there, you have a limited amount of fucks to give. Very few, in fact. And if you go around giving a fuck about everything and everyone without conscious thought or choice—well, then you’re going to get fucked."

In this anti self-help book, Mark Manson tried to explain that it's OK to not be successful or rich or the best person in the world. He shows that happiness depends on our own metrics, and that we should choose the metrics wisely. For example a guitarist was kicked out of a band, he was pissed of and he started a new band that was successful and he become rich, but unfortunately the band that he was kicked out of was Metallica, and the guitarist is Dave Mustaine, despite his success he was always less successful than Metallica and he linked his lack of happiness in that. In the other hand there is Pete Best, the drummer who was kicked out of Beatles, he didn't became succeful, he spend years drinking and having misirable life, but than his metrics changed, and he was happy to find the love of his life and have a family that made his life meaningful.

So the idea is to choose what really matters to you, and this idea doesn't really need a book, life will teach you that after a bunch of experiences 😁

I liked the book, it's funny and entertaining, but it's not a changing life book, it's not a profond study, the stories told in the book are personal experiences, if after years I realized that I'm not interested to be the best at work, or to have too many friends or to be so rich, and instead have the multiple different experiences in life by traveling and reading books. I'm sure that it will not speak to others that have other metrics than me
