How the Women Are Working At Women Empowerment Part-3

Dear supporters of @WomenEmpowerment,

Today we would like to share our training class activities on 23rd February, 2017 organised by @WomenEmpowerment at @SchoolForSDG4 campus. Women Empowerment is a social venture which is supporting slum women in Sylhet by providing skill based training and empowering them by providing tools.

It was so busy day for me @Azizbd as I had to join picnic with some autistic children on 23rd February, 2018.

I @Azizbd was in picnic from 8 Am to 4:30 PM. I quickly joined with Women Empowerment to know how they are working and if there something I need to know.

It was as normal class for hand sewing. We will have a new sewing machine soon for the project. This is really great to see their attention at class. We are also taking record of their attendance so we can give prize for regular attendance and good performance during the training. It will the 6 months long training where they will get some paid and non-paid work for their skill development.

@abzid thank you for your educational program for the children. Also for realizing the whole community must be involved in order to make the school work. The women’s initiative is a great start, as they learn how to market their own skills.
Your school is one of my favorite charities. Please do not take offense when I ask you why more little girls are not attending school?
Where are the fathers of these children?
Are they working are they absent?
My knowledge of other cultures may be limited, but education works best if everyone has a contribution to the betterment of their children. Surely, I am not alone in asking these questions or perhaps you have addressed these issues in a previous post and I just missed it. If so could you re-address the situation? Thank you for your hard work. 🐓🐓

Thank you for your comment and asking nice questions. I am so happy not because school getting a large amount of donation, I am happy for a large number of people involved with the initiative now. I received your donation several times via #ADollarADay initiative by @pennsif . I feel thankful for all.

Your questions convinced me to count the number of girls vs boys now. We have around 50% girl at school. although the ratio is good but the ratio decrease for slum girls when they are the teenager.

The father of the children works as day labourer mostly. some of the children have no parents and growing up with grandma or relatives family. Sometimes father left them and stay with another family. all are the real examples as I have the profile of the kids. Male kids are sent at work when they become 10 years old.

For example, today, Sumon did not come at school who went to work with father and Alal-Uddin did same. He went to sell vegetables today with father. So both couldn't attend school. Some fathers work hard to feed them but they give less importance for the education program. Mothers mostly stay at home, some mother works as housemaid or day labourers. I am not sure wheather you got the answers but please chat with me on steemit.chat/direct/azizbd for any info. It is so nice to have good questions as I am very eager to answer and discuss about my project.

Wonderful answer. So much easier when I understand the circumstances. Education is not a priority there and the children must help to support their families. Your 50/50 ratio is good. I hope that we all can help more students reach higher levels of education. Your job is not an easy one as learning is difficult when a child is hungry or worried about having to leave their friends to go to work. Bless you my friend and thank you for answering my questions. 🐓🐓

Thank you. Actually, some situations are very normal for our country and abnormal for developed countries. When people see kids at a restaurant for work, we think its normal. And this cycle of poverty become reality without education. Even I offer free but still can't make their family to support them and send them school instead work. I am sure we can support them. Their stories can't be untold. The hot meal and fruits program also help me to ensure aregular attandance of these kids. So nice to have you as support.
