DSound Gems Vol 10 - Steemit Music Review

Wow...can't believe I made it to Volume Ten. DSound is such a great platform for Steemit musicians and the number of us seems to be growing on a daily basis. The quality and range of genres is immense and there is always a gem or five to be found. Some great tracks this time round from @harrisonmir @scuzzy @theatreofdelays @grant-vegra and @bipolar

Jon Caturia pulls vocal duties on this smoothly produced chilled house groove by Elpi5. Based around a catchy lofi electronic piano chord sequence the track builds with some laid back drums and perfectly placed vocals. Lush and uplifting.

Some Judicious samplism is exhibited on this infectious beat. Some sampled seventies funk soul brothers that I can't quite place. Great choice of vocal and brass chops punctuate the funk beat and keep things grooving.

Theatre of Delays does a masterful job blending electronic and acoustic elements in this chilled slightly melancholic instrumental. Almost all the elements of the track, even the electronic parts sound, very acoustic/organic and there is a nice use of sampled acoustic instruments. Adeptly produced. Electronica with a soul.

I am not usually a huge trap fan but Grant Vegra manages a slow downed take with an underlying mood and atmosphere that keep your ears engaged. This one has a kind of a glitched out Trapbient vibe.

This track trucks along nicely with a smooth funk groove and neo-soul/pop female vocal. @bipolar delivers funky bass, some eighties synths and some nice vocoder embellishments. The lyrics are a little Saccharin on this but if you can forgive that then this is a nice soulful pop slice of funkiness.
