DSound Gems Vol4 - Steemit Music Review
This is my 4th skimming of the musical surface of dsound. Thought I would also put this one forward for @scuzzy music curation Steemit Music Review. Hope you enjoy listening to these gems as much as I enjoyed finding them. Suprised every day by the quality of original music that is being posted.

@avesa contributed backing vocals to this laid back funky pop gem. Shades of seventies disco and neo soul with a nice mix of singers contributing. Will look forward to hearing some more from these guys.

Men of Science start off sounding like the soundtrack to a seventies cop show or heist movie. That is no criticism. The instrumentation on this is great, jazzy bursts of muted horns, guitars and smooth infectious bass over cut up brushy jazz drums. It would be easy to overproduce this but this instrumental has a really nice balance of styles.

@isaria starts this track with a mellow and catchy piano progression. Then some electro glitchy beats hit for the chorus. Lyrics are definitely on point for reflecting the optimism and ethos of Steemian community "You're worth more than zero or free"

@squares brings us a song reflecting on the media diet we ingest every day. The vocals start on an electro Gollum vibe with the chorus going for a more traditional industrial vocal. Synths, guitars and a jaunty almost synth pop catchiness.

@auxen delivers some gritty and insistent indie with excursions in to discordance. Reminiscent of Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins but with a modern off kilter production style.

@drumoperator connects the spaghetti of wires and twiddles the knobs on their modular synth set up to deliver a warm and atmospheric ambient excursion. This one develops nicely with a perfect balance of order and modular chaos. You can't make music like this on a laptop for sure.
Thanks for the love @redskylullaby. Much appreciated. It is a commendable task, curating the mass of stuff on dsound, but many of the deep dives I've taken have netted me some legitimately interesting finds!

Thanks there is some great stuff on dsound, unfortunately buried a little under people posting other people’s content . The platform is still a bit buggy especially on mobile devices I’m finding
