DSound Gems Vol7 - Steemit Music Review

Continuing on my musical explorations of DSound for great Origanal music with volume number 7 of dSound Gems. There is something for everyone here from laid back hip hop through, pop, folk and electronica. I am blown away every week by the quality of stuff being posted on dTube and dSound and although I include some trending/hot stuff I am trying mainly to feature gems I find that have fairly minimal likes/comments/payouts.

@aceace I am presuming is the Ace credited with rapping the 3rd verse on this mellow hip hop gem with pop sensibilities. There are some nicely sung vocal hooks about feeling your energy from two planets away that act as a poppy chorus between the verses by Korona, Perkins and Ace. There is a nice slowdown/breakdown dropped in toward the end also.

@darrenclaxton recently had his main mrbloom account hacked so is starting again with this self named account. This is a great track with beautiful guitar and Darren's mellow tones melting over a beat that shuffles along under it all like a slow train coming.

@nickspydiver and Men of Science bring some laid back funk grooves. Wah guitars, infectious bass and horns, perfect for late night head nodding. This one is a great instrumental but is absolutely crying out for a soulful female vocal to be added. Maybe there is a Steemian soul songstress out there to take this one on?

Joseph R Gardner aka @babycrow lays down a simple but effective strummed guitar chord sequence with some bass that provides a perfect bed for his nostalgic vocals reflecting on his mid teens. Acoustic folky goodness.

@jeffleinwand crafts some intricate chilled glitchtronica that travels on pleasant unexpected paths without veering too wildly off from being an actual tune. Shades of Aphex Twin and Four Tet. Production skills on this are top notch.
