I'm Ethan Smith, and this is the STEEM Engine Express.

We begin this week with another great video series from STEEM Engine passenger @derosnec. In her new video series, @derosnec discusses the various types of videos artists may use to promote their work, and how this can be done on a budget. The first installment of the series tackles the main types of videos that may be used. These include documentaries, music videos, and vlogs. If you've ever been interested in making videos, be sure to follow along with this series, as you might just learn some new tricks on how to keep your videos looking sharp without breaking the bank.

It wouldn't be the Express without a travel blog, and this week, passenger @coldsteem takes us on a journey to Big Ben and Parliament in London, England. Follow along as @coldsteem shares accounts of the visit to these two iconic destinations, which include photos and historical background information. If you've ever wanted to learn more about visiting these sights in London, I encourage you to check out @coldsteem's photo journey to get some good ideas, and perhaps you'll be planning your trip soon!

If you've ever battled PTSD or insomnia, you aren't alone. STEEM Engine Passenger @dreemsteem shared a blog this week about a possible solution to both that she discovered. It has to do with weighted blankets, which may be purchased from several sources and can offer the comforting feeling of an embrace in times of need. I encourage you to read the blog if you've ever dealt with either of these issues, and don't be afraid to let @dreemsteem know if a weighted blanket helps you!

Colonization of space is a fantastic and fascinating topic to consider. Countless books, films, and television shows have attempted to describe what it would be like to live on another planet, but how realistic would it be to maintain a colony on another planet like Mars? Passenger @alexdory seeks to answer this question with his Colonization of MARS Series, which this week discussed what it would look like to operate a farm on Mars to grow a sustainable food supply. This post excellently describes the concepts surrounding farming on Mars, so I encourage you to read this post if you're interested in learning more. It's always interesting to consider things that might not be science fiction for much longer.

Finally today, we take a look at passenger @Daminanjayclay's passion for poetry. Poetry is a subject that many members of The STEEM Engine have approached lately, and in his latest blog, Damian describes how he came to enjoy poetry and why he helps promote it across Steemit today. You'll learn about his #editedbyclay initiative, in which he translates normal comments by users across Steemit into verse form, allowing the content to be enjoyed in a whole new way. I encourage you to read this post whether you enjoy poetry or not. You might just come away with a new appreciation for it.

That's all for today's curation segment. This week, alongside @AwakentoLife, I had the privilege of co-hosting The STEEM Engine's first ever live curation segment called Talk of the Line. Broadcasted on the SteemStar radio network, the session lasted two hours and featured many members of The STEEM Engine sharing their most recent blogs and talking about relevant topics. If you're a member of The STEEM Engine, I hope you'll plan to join us for the next session, and if voice chat curation interests you, but you're not a member yet, head over to steemit.com/@thesteemengine to apply today! You can also hear the entire first Talk of the Line segment by visiting my profile at steemit.com/@ethandsmith.

The STEEM Engine Express features five of the best posts curated by the STEEM Engine each week across the Steemit platform. The Express is produced by Ethan D. Smith exclusively for The STEEM Engine initiative on Steemit.com, and is featured throughout the week on the SteemStar.net radio network.

That's all for this week's episode! To read posts mentioned in today's Express or to listen to past episodes, visit steemit.com/@ethandsmith. I hope you'll catch the next Express!
