SMURFETTE Blue Tea Party

Our SMURFETTE turned 5

Shen's simple request is to have a little Tea Party set up for her new found friends in the neighborhood with Smurfette as a theme.  WISH GRANTED.

In this DIY Challenge, I had to make a smurfette Hat with that Yellow Hair, Smurfs hats for the girlfriends coming and....Shen asked me to make them all a Blue tutus. Honestly, I do not know how to sew, so I needed to find a way to make these tutus without sewing and ALAS! Indeed there are a lot of DIY NO-SEW Tutus Tutorial avilable online but I found this one here the easiest one : (http://www.simplyrealmoms.com/posts/adorable-diy-no-sew-tutu/ )

So here is how I rendered the tutorial

SMURFS HATS

 For the smurf hat, I measured the standard dimension of a 4-5-6 year old toddler's head making SHENs' as the basis, and  I draw a pattern forming into that smurf's hat to a doubled layer felt. Put an extra 1/2 inch to the patterned lines so there will be space for gluing.

Check my amateur digital drawing below  PRESTO! Got a super cute smurf's Tutu and smurf's hat.

 For Smurfette which would be Shens' , I glued a crinkled paper which when you buy that one its like a crinkled ribbon so its easy to manipulate when you want to make fly away,  this available to any crafts store.(In the Philippines its available in Expressions and National Bookstore).

CONCEPT

The set up would be a  Blue tea Party for 6, where they can play pretend a real grown ups, do chit chats while enjoyng the served snacks.

This is my first time that I did not bake Shen a cake because she was requesting if she can have a Blue Birthdy Edition of the DQ Ice cream cake. So to personalize it according to the theme, we made an edible Smurf  toppers which includes Smurfette and her adventure buddies Hefty and Clumsy ( I missed Brainy though ) and also Papa Smurf. (Thank you Tito Tangkad for always doing the tiny people for me.)
