Letting your Dreams Out - Are You Enslaved?
What's really available to you? People will tell me all the time that nobody can keep them down - or that nobody can keep them from accomplishing their dreams - and for the most part thats true. We see that message promoted through the entertainment industry, weather a movie character like Cinderella, or an Emmy or Oscar winner where someone is telling us that we can accomplish our dreams with 'hard work' or 'believing in ourselves'. Very few of us are really actually enslaved. Maybe a few of us, but for the most part we have the ability to make our own choices and do what we want. Pursuing our dreams and desires.
If this were true - then why is our society fading in debt, obesity, prescriptions and depression?
De we just lack the desire to accomplish anything? Are we actually enslaved? What is with the fade?
There are I'm sure plenty of things that contribute to this, and I would love your thoughts, as well as your experience if you would like to share them.
I have found that we mostly live enslaved
I get to interact with many young adults in my vocation. Most have been, or are currently being 'educated.' Most of their perspective is shadowed by fear or insecurity. They are in the grind of college, looking for next internship or opportunity to 'make it'. Very few are actually making decisions in their life based on what they really want. There are two big lies I have seen.
- The fear of not measuring up. This could be to some standard that they feel from the system, or from their parents or some other loved ones - that they will never really hit the mark. Therefore limiting their desire to really try and tap into the deep desires in their hearts.
- The fear of their dreams being just that also holds people down. Most people have incredible dreams and desires if you can actually get to them. It only requires you unfolding years of disappointments, fears, and perceived failures.
Most people have been so properly 'educated' that they realized the dreams and impacts they want to make in the world will have little to no chance to ever materialize. They look at them like 1 in a million type odd's. Early on they may subconsciously feel that - but gradually through the teenage years they become conscious of that, and start functioning from that reality. With each new experience of 'learning' people get pushed a bit deeper into the education system. The next test only builds on the comparison a little bit more, and with each new experience dreams and desires get locked away a little bit deeper, and our need to fit the mold gets set a little firmer.
I have been following a series of articles put out by @nomad17 talking about this idea of education vs learning (I will attach a link to the articles at the bottom). @Nomad17 talks of the impacts of this system having on young people's inability to learn. Which I totally agree with.
The question I want to ask here - and again would love your thoughts -
Are you actually living out your dream?
And if not why? Are you a product of being educated? We are not really slaves...are we? Do you have things deep down in your heart that you are afraid to actually let out? Have you found your way through the education system where you have been able to find life in spite of it. Or maybe the education system has been amazing for you!
Again, I just shared a few of the reasons that I have seen in my own experience - and do not claim it to be the only reasons of why our dreams get shut down and our desires never really have a chance to be born. I would like to help people actually get their dreams and desires out and on track to see them play out...

We take the "plunge" today exactly 5 years ago. Quit my job in the city, sell everything and arrive here on the coast to fulfill our dream of living here. Start to work for myself with the grace of God. Escaping the "paid slavery" of a 8-5 job. We are having a great time although not financially easy every day. We are free!
Good for you! That's a brave step many dream of taking, but few manage. I agree with you, freedom comes from that! My husband and I are doing the same :)

Wow- yes if we even knew the half of it. According to Joseph Chilton Pearce (and me) there is NO learning existing in any coercive or threatening environment. I truly believe this. Am I yet living my dream? This is a process and yes "UnSchooling" of which I am an advocate is an entriely new SELF-education that also requires time. Why the so-called retention rate lingers at <5%.
Emotional intelligence is being decimated in "schools" (prison camps for kids) today.
What goes on today is not education it is programming disguised as education. A domestication of each individual into a collective. This collective is kept under a multi faceted fear trance.. I am not exaggerating. Please see and learn about these things more deeply. One phenomenal recent book that relates how this is possible- Quantum psychotherapy. Specifically regarding trance states however is another book "Trances People Live" . After practicing many different healing and spiritual modalities/meditations I have simply settled on meditating on the heart.
The heart has 70% more neurons than the mind! Please look up for yourself. And the mind is usually never in the present but with guilt or regret in the past or with worry or anxiety in the future. Only the heart is in the present. Put your consciousness there and "unschool."

thats fascinating about the heart - I had no idea - all my research has really been built around the brain - thanks for the book recommendation as well I will check it out! thanks
It really is something, we've been measuring/studying the brain and yet the heart also produces some 60x the electromagnetic amplitude of the brain.
Joseph Pearce author of magical child and crack in the cosmic egg.. etc the biology of transcendence has tons of great knowledge on the subject along with experience in research at Heartmath Institute.

This is a great perspective on the topic. I completely agree that most people don't pursue what they want, but instead tread the path of the majority. Hence, they are so unhappy and are always blaming their circumstances for lack of opportunities when they have chosen a path they are not passionate about! It's really a cycle, but many rather than settle for the somewhat guaranteed then work that little much harder, and dream that little bigger to have greater opportunities. And what you said about people being pushed to the education system is so right because through that, one's identity and dreams are crashed. It's like selling your soul! Well I can completely describe and explain the full effects of the system that we live in which is a false illusion over the truth of the illusion of reality that we are in.
It would take me hours, days, weeks, months, or even years to get one to the that Aha moment where you experience what I can explain if full detail..
The root cause to our reasons for not doing our dreams as we see we want to do them is, yes true done through fear based programming, but it is done through love based programming too.
This what I speak is done with every subject.
And language is the root to mind control and brainwashing the brain into thinking that it is ones mind when it is not.
From there you get a whole host of effects that the subject or human in this case will do these effect to ones self without any more need of the system to actually indoctrinate you... as if has indoctrinated all subject matter, even language..
Once one sees language for what it is, then you see why it is the root tool for brainwashing.
Speaking words are symbols put together to create spells of manifestation, creation and destruction..
All three are need for change....
Change is constant..

This is something I know.. I do not use the word believe or any attachment to the root of that word as it has the word "lie" in it for a reason....
