Driving to and from Blackpool with me ๐Ÿš™ @c0ff33a โ˜•๏ธ

in #dashcam โ€ข 6 years ago

Just in case you totally missed me going on about it, last weekend I went to Blackpool with my family. Actually the truth is they went to Blackpool Friday to Monday without me ๐Ÿ˜ญ Because I had to work, I followed over on a wet and grey Saturday morning.

Now this jolly jaunt away did present a small problem, some of you may have noticed I do a vlog post every Saturday - which takes me the whole day to do. The even sharper might have noticed a distinct lack of the vlog post, it really was not possible to fit it in. I was going to do it today instead, as I'm spending 3 hours on a train down to London Village, the quaint little backwater of the UK with it's charming stream called The Thames - they even have a little village Ferris wheel next to it. But I realised that as the post includes links to many other people's posts - I would either be linking posts past pay out so they can not get rewards - or using up posts that would be for this Saturdays vlog. So I decided not to do it at all, although I will leave the video vlog link at the bottom of this post.

Rainy motorways are not so much fun, but here we are entering an even Wetter Blackpool. Very unlikely I will be doing any paddling today! Living in what could be described as the centre of the UK (Between West and East coasts anyway) it is a relatively short 1 and a half hours drive to either coast. Let's see my journey on a map.

I took the dark blue route, all Motorway. The other options are minor roads which would be less driving miles, but slower because of the slow average speed. Fortunately the motorway was relatively quiet on a wet Saturday Morning, and even quieter for my return journey on Sunday night.

Arriving in Blackpool I parked up to catch up with my family on the beach front, although with all the rain they were hiding out in the many varied arcades. It's I assume a very British tradition at the seaside to have many arcades filled with gaming machines, and the penny machines where you feed pennies in to try and have more shoved out at you. You never gain anything from these, it's just to occupy time - sometimes the machines will have little gifts that will be pushed out as well.

Coral Island is probably the biggest on Blackpool Sea front, and even has it's own little pirate ship Monorail that runs around above the games machines, four people can sit in each boat an take the trip round.

The outside is impressive, with a Pirate Theme. They even have a look alike Jack Sparrow who wanders around inside giving out gold chocolate coins to children.

We stayed well outside of Blackpool centre at a family holiday park, you actually stay in static caravans - it works well because with two family friends there were six of us and we could all stay in the one block. You can see the accommodation on my journey setting off home.

The weather was much better on Sunday, but this lovely blue sky did not arrive until 5pm when it was nearly time for me to go home!

As we leave you can see the impressive entertainment complex on the left, with swimming baths, a bar and restaurant to sit and eat in, a full arcade with gaming machines, soft play area, bowling, Pizza Store and then the Main entertainment stage that put's on show's every night. So while the caravans are very spacious and have all the home comforts including big screen TV's, you rarely spend any time in them other then sleeping.

Finally driving home, the rest of my family returned the next evening after enjoying their long weekend away.

Thank you @c0ff33a for taking the time and effort to document your drive. Really cool.

And someday I would love to visit the area and UK in general. Looks spectacular :)

Thank you very much, there is some very beautiful scenery around that area.

Somehow I can envision @longsilver riding around the pirate ship Yelling "Arg, matey!" at everyone in there... lol!
Hey, I am blown away by the outpouring of support for a stranger, literally made me cry when I got up this morning and saw what people had done for my nephew. Thank you, bless you, and tip!

Thank you very much, the roof top monorail is great fun to ride around - they do have muskets on cables in the little ships you sit in and you can fire them at targets - it has a laser and sets off an alarm to say you hit it.

You are more then welcome, although you will have to find some way to keep reminding me to check out his posts - I'm so busy nowadays keeping track of people is nearly impossible.

this is really great sir @coff33a
it's like you've given us a trip too โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ถ

Thank you very much, yes I like to share my driving trip - it's speeded up so less boring for you then it was for me doing the driving!

Excellent footage enjoyed it really great blog :)

Thank you very much, I always appreciate you calling in and leaving a comment.

Ha at first glance I thought there were kids in the casino. With guns. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you, plenty of guns for the gaming machines in the arcade. The do have gambling machines as well - but it's in an enclosed area for over 18's only.

I absolutely love arcades! Totally the place to be and the outside of that place certainly is cool, you are right on that. I swear half the time I watch your vlogs I just take in all the buildings with character, the opposite side of the road driving, and of course just listening to you. I really do love what you do here with your blogs and your awesome informative and giving/sharing post where you share other posts is always amazing but i see you think the same way I do sometimes too (making sure they aren't past payout). Even with all the rain it looks like you at least had a bit of a good time. Although if they leave you again perhaps they can open a can of beans for you before they leave lol. ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you very much, I always enjoy sharing little bits of my life - and hopefully someone finds it interesting. Next time I think I will just save the effort and get fish and chips on the way home!

Thanks for taking us along on the trip, I remember visiting Blackpool, was a fun place to visit i only had a day and a half there but I did enjoy it, and had far to much to drink the night there if i remember correctly lOL

Thank you very much, Blackpool is well know for it's Tower, Piers, Illuminations and Pleasure Beach with roller coaster rides. It is also well known for the Stag and Hen parties that frequent it's bars on a weekend - so once midday passes you start seeing the drunken groups staggering between the many different bars on the sea front.

I do believe I visited mid week as it was between All Black games on the weekends, I didnt do any of the riders but enjoyed seeing the pier and beaches, I was young and foolish the so I was probably part of the drunken evening crowd lOL

Nice post my dear friend

Thank you very much for always popping in and leaving a comment.

The place looks fun and it is not so far away weโ€™re you guys live! Great post!

Thank you, it's good fun for all the family and we tend to travel to the area quite often, the boys like it and when we go in summer they get to enjoy the beach as well.

That's a lot of driving. couldn't you just blink your eyes or clcik your hels together and be there??

Thank you very much, that was a short drive really! I wish it was that simple, yesterday I had to drive 4 hours solid back from London - and it's tough driving with your legs crossed!

Yep I bet that would be a bit rough ..lol especially with the legs crossed...
