1- OVERVIEW
DASH translates (D)igitalC(ASH), privacy oriented, claims to make instant, online or in-store payments using a secure, open-source platform.
2- INSIGHTS
InstantSend payments confirm transactions in less than a second.
PrivateSend ensures your activity history and balances are private.
Transactions are confirmed by 1,000 Gigahash of X11 ASIC computing power and over 4,100 servers hosted around the world.
3- IS ALL ABOUT THE INCENTIVES
DASH is really into incentives, Miners are rewarded for securing the blockchain and masternodes are rewarder for validating.
As they state:
"Masternodes represent a new layer of network servers that work in highly secure clusters called quorums to provide a variety of decentralized services, like instant transactions, privacy and governance, while eliminating the threat of low-cost network attacks."

4- Self-Governing, Self Funding protocol
Every member of DASH can propose projects directly to the network. From marketing to development, the propose is taken to a VOTE TRACKER like this:
They get then accepted and implemented, or simply rejected.
