Food Adventures #003: Hello by Kitchen Mafia

January means the start of a new year. It means that you will make multiple mistakes writing or typing 2017 instead of 2018. To me January means the celebration of both my parents' birthdays(and my husband's too). This year we chose to go to Hello by Kitchen Mafia.

This place was a little hard to find. If you feel like you're in the wrong place, and it's at a flats housing area then you got it correct. It is situated in a place called Happy Mansion at Section 17, Petaling Jaya.

Let's jump right into the food!

^{Duck Egg Calamari; RM 18}

What's there not to like about deep fried squid? Add some salted duck egg buttermilk and there you have it, a perfect blend of crunch and creamy texture to your juicy squid. This dish is a usual recommendation by other foodies too!

^{Lamb Massaman & Fried Bread; RM 21}

Next in line is Lamb Massaman served with fried bread. The massaman had chunks of potato and eggplant and went so well with the fried bread. The portion was generous and enough to be a main meal! The curry was so savoury with a hint of sweetness :)

^{Salted Egg Buttermilk; RM 34}

The main course was a Salted Egg Buttermilk. Salted egg again? What was the pasta served with? You guessed it. Squid. When @branlee87 ordered the dish excitedly, he did not read the description clearly. And I should've controlled him better but oh well. More salted duck egg calamari! This dish is the same as the bite sized Duck Egg Calamari only better. The pasta by itself was normal, nothing special. Take a bite of the pasta with a piece of that calamari though, BAM. Very delicious and very satisfying.

All in all, it was a satisfying meal, warm ambience with great company. If it weren't for the birthday cake, I would've visited Food Foundry for dessert! Next time perhaps!
