The Fifth post in a series of random #hacks, tips and tricks for all Mountain Bike riders:

1 – Squeeze some fresh lime or lemon juice in your water bottles or hydration pack, for flavour and vitamin C!

2 – Remove the pads in your helmet once in a while, put them in a sock and in the washing machine to avoid a smelly helmet!!!!

3 – When you get hungry on the bike (and you're trying to lose weight like all of us ;-), try to first drink. Often feeling hungry feels a little similar to thirsty, and you will notice that the hunger is disappearing when you are hydrated. And remember: getting to your ideal weight is the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to improve your performance and it will not cost you thousands of bucks (like that light carbon frame does).

4 – It is easier to do your intervals when you are fresh; instead try to do them once in a while when you're a little fatigued. Doing efforts when you are slightly tired improved especially your mental toughness, and this apparantly helps to build your mitochondria, which are involved in energy production.

5 – When you are planning to bike on a hot day, put your bottle/hydration pack with half water and half air in the freezer the night before, that way you have nice cold water during your ride!
