1 – Use an old innertube as your chainstay protector.

2 – Cut your old innertubes into small rings and you have an endless supply of rubber bands!

3 – Use a dish washing brush or a toilet cleaner brush for your bike cleaning.

4 – Use a cable tie, not too tightly fastened, on your suspension, so that you can see how much sag there is in case you lost the rubber thingy. Use the cable tie inside-out if you want to remove it again.

5 – Ride with other mountain bikers that are (moderately) faster than you... It will be tough and you will have to dig deep once in a while, but you'll notice that you can keep up after a few weeks and your progress will be great! Don't worry that the others have to wait once in a while, secretly they are happy to have a breather!

Sort:

Use skateboard grip tape on your shifters, brake levers and dropper post for no slip shifting. Especially when your sweating.

Zip tie your front cables together to reduce noise.

Use marine grease for your bottom bracket and head tube bearings. Lasts longer and water resistant.

Use blue locktite for rotor screws and other places that do not get hot.

Use a small amount of teflon tape on your valvestem to eliminate slow leaks.

Use the sidewall of an old tire for a boot to repair other tires.

Some good additions!
