Bicycle Trip to the Autumn Forest (Sumy, Ukraine) Part 1. EN/RU.

There is such a wonderful moment in the autumn, when the multicolored leaves start to fall from the trees, but it is not yet time for cold rains and mud under your feet.
On such a day you do not want to sit at home or walk around the usual gray streets along the standard route of a house-work-supermarket, but want to get out of the orderly city and plunge into the chaos of the autumn forest, feel the last warm rays of the sun on your face, listen to the rustle of leaves under your feet and watch the beauty that only nature can create.

Usually on such a wonderful autumn day my husband and I set out on a bike trip to some woodland. This time we went upstream of the Psel River to the village called Zelenyi Hai (it's like "Green holt" in English).
This place is very popular among Sumy cyclists for a number of reasons:

• there is beautiful nature and there is everything you need for recreation - the forest, the river, small sandy beaches
• it is relatively near the city and from the city center you can get there by bike for 30-40 minutes (if you you are not a photographer ang go without a camera)
• there is a trail for training in the discipline of "cross-country" made by the cyclists themselves.

Usually they go there by a short route, but our main goal after all was not speed, so we chose a long and not very trampled road along the river bank, and returned back on the other bank. In short, our route can be described next way

The private sector on the edge of the city was the start of our little trip. A good view opens from here.

Further descent from the hill along the broken dirt road, a strip of mud from the road to the forest, the country house and finally we are in the woodland. There is no asphalt cover, only a narrow pathway, sometimes such covered with leaves that it is not visible.

It was twisted like a snake between the trees: many sharp turns, height differences, fallen trees and critical rapprochement with the river just did not allow to relax and take a breath.

The husband suggested that this path was also trampled on by bicyclists, and this finding 100% confirmed our assumptions.

Yeah, they creatively solved the problem that arose across the road:-)

Almost all the leaves were already falling from the trees and now rustled pleasantly under the wheels.

Walking through the forest we found several specimens of mushrooms. The first one was definitely not edible.

The second was just huge and had a quite pleasant smell, but I've never met with such before and therefore decided not to take them.

Finally a glade, a good place to have a little snack

with a beautiful view of the opposite shore

Shaman, he managed to build a fire even from raw firewood.

Peparing sausages - great food for small trips, when there is no extra time and the opportunity to bring extra cooking utensils. Fast meal.

Picking up water from the river to pour a fire, my husband accidentally caught this small creature.

But she was lucky and after a small photo shoot she was released to freedom.

Next r we had to drive a little across the field to go round a small tributary of the river,

and then again return to the autumn forest (2nd part of this trip will be soon)

Есть в осени такой чудесный момент, когда с деревьев только начинают осыпаться разноцветные листья, но еще не наступила пора холодных дождей и грязи под ногами. В такой день не хочется сидеть дома или ходить по привычным серым улицам по стандартному маршруту дом-работа-супермаркет, а хочется выбраться за пределы упорядоченного города и немного погрузиться в хаос осеннего леса, почувствовать последние теплые лучи солнца на лице, послушать шорох листьев под ногами и понаблюдать за красотой, которую может создать только природа.

Обычно в такой чудесный осенний день мы с мужем отправляемся на вело-прогулку в какой-нибудь лесной массив.
В этот раз мы поехали вверх по течению реки Псел до поселка под названием Зеленый Гай.
Это место очень популярно среди сумских велосипедистов по ряду причин:

• там красивая природа и есть все что нужно для отдыха - лес, речка, небольшие песчаные пляжи
• оно находится относительно недалеко от города и от центра туда можно добраться на велосипеде минут за 30-40 (если едешь без фотоаппарата)
• там есть трасса для тренировок в дисциплине "кросс-кантри" сделанная самими же велосипедистами.

Обычно туда едут коротким маршрутом, но нашей главной целью ведь была не скорость, поэтому мы выбрали длинную и не очень натоптанную дорогу вдоль берега реки, а обратно вернулись по другому берегу. Вкратце наш маршрут можно обозначить так

Частный сектор на краю города был началом нашего небольшого путешествия. отсюда открывается неплохой вид.(фото)
Дальше спуск с холма по разбитой грунтовой дороге, полоса грязи от дороги до леса, дачный массив и наконец мы в лесу.
Здесь нет асфальта, только узенькая грунтовая дорожка, местами настолько засыпанная листьями, что ее и не видно. (фото)
Она вилась змейкой между деревьев: много резких поворотов, перепадов высоты, поваленных деревьев и критических сближений с речкой просто не давали расслабиться и перевести дух.(фото)
Муж высказал предположение, что эту дорожку тоже натоптали велосипедисты, уж очень она замысловатая. И эта находка 100% подтвердила наши предположения. (фото)
Да уж, они творчески решили проблему, возникшую поперек дороги.
Почти все листики уже осыпались с деревьев и теперь приятно шуршали под колесами. (фото)
Гуляя по лесу мы нашли и несколько образцов грибов. Первый был точно не съедобный. (фото)
Второй был просто огромный и пах довольно приятно, но я с такими никогда ранее не встречалась и поэтому решила не брать (фото).

Готовим сардельки - отличная еда для небольших путешествий, когда нет лишнего времени и возможности взять с собой лишнюю посуду для готовки. (фото)
Набирая из речки воду, чтобы залить костер, муж случайно поймал маленькую лягушку (фото). Но ей повезло и после небольшого фотосета она была отпущена на свободу.
Далее нам пришлось проехаться немного по полю, чтобы объехать небольшой приток реки,(фото) и затем снова вернуться в осенний лес. (это будет вторая часть истории)!
