Curie Weekly Update (24th to 30th Oct 2016)
In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

Weekly Statistics
Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 609 posts at an average of 87 posts per day. After weeks of continued growth, we see a decline of 20%. As the value of Steem has gone down, so has our operating budget. We're trying our best to reward as many deserving posts as possible, but we may see further decline in operating capacity if Steem falls further.
A total of 403 unique authors were rewarded. Similarly, this is also a decline after weeks of growth. However, part of the reason here is that we have seen quite a few authors graduate to Steem Guild. Currently, nearly 200 Curie graduates are being voted for actively by Steem Guild.
SBD 13,357 was generated at an average of SBD 21 per post. This is an all-time low for rewards generated per week, about 2.5 times lower than reported in our first Curie weekly during mid September. This is expected with the decline in Steem price.

There are a couple of re-entries this week. This is a good signal for Curie to reach out to fresher accounts. However, please do check the top authors - the base quality of posts on Steemit is steadily on the rise despite decline in Steem!

We upvoted 150 posts submitted by curators in #curie, with 1200 Steem pending payouts to curators. With the reduction in finder's fee, we see a decline in the number of total posts curated. We have revamped our #curie operations this week, and look forward to receiving many more great submissions in #curie from curators.
@fubar-bdhr retains their crown as the top curator on Curie for the 6th consecutive week! Thanks for being such an intense curator! We have a new challenger this week in @onephoto.
Daily Statistics
The average posts curated declined to 87 posts per day this week.
The number of unique authors rewarded is tracking very closely with the total posts - fulfilling our goal of reaching out to as many authors as possible.
The heavy dip yesterday was due to the Asia region taking a break. Unlike the previous week, we have seen a decline in payouts even during maximum Curie operations earlier this week. Sending out a message for 100% powerups may be a good way to earn Steem for better potential returns in the future.

I am happy to be in the top 3 weeks in a row and help discovering new authors.
We are all going to have to grind through the value downturn...hopefully a new crop of whales will take advantage of the low prices
OTOH, we can continue to create content, promote the site and those merchants that accept Steem, and hopefully recruit new merchants to do do.
