I stare at the barrel of truth's gun
Foolishly, without missing a blink
Head-on, I calmly face the terror
The light of truth is dark

Poetry Speaks: Three Steps by @isaganispeaks masterfully uses juxtaposition to illustrate the ledge we all stand on at one time or another, with an ending that cuts to the quick.

As a boat slides over the water’s expanse,
as a river flows, embraced by a bank,
as a moonlit path trembles on a clear night,
so freely the spirit breathes in truthful lines.

A woman is drowning.
Anyone could wade in,
no one will save her.
They harvest her final breath.

There's a certain anguish to this piece- both as an observer and as the victim. I love the use of metaphor. Check out Poetry (a Poem) by @geekorner

It is 11:18 and the words haven't stopped. There is so much I want to write but I cannot find the way in. You've riddled me with holes, don't you know? I'm filling them in with machine gun fire.

You ever feel all tipped over like?
Rolling in humiliation of
over and done and can't take it all back?
Learn since then
that maybe it doesn't matter
because you clawed a hole in a wall that was someone
