Feb 3 -- Steemit Ramble #65 -- Don't You Hate Missing Good Posts?

in #curation7 years ago

Roast beef supper night at the Legion tonight. The first Friday of every month a roast beef dinner is served. This time of year the attendance tends to be down as people are away travelling to the sunny south, not wanting to drive at night or just don’t want to come out in the cold. And it is very cold today.

Our winter this year has been pretty mild so when it drops to 18F we tend to feel the cold more than when we have consistent cold temperatures.

Onward to today’s rambling

The ancients were more advanced than we think!

I don’t know about you but it’s always fascinating looking at some of the unbelievable artifacts from our past. Especially the structures that the ancients built with such amazing detail and engineering feats without the heavy lift equipment that we have today. @the-future has posted about several items from the past, from nature and man-made.

My Curation Experiment: Getting a Brand New Account Into the Top 20 Curators List in Under 1 Week.

If you’re interested in learning more about curation and how to gain income from doing so, @naquoya’s posts are one to give a good read to. He’s accomplished some interesting gains by studying the process. Looking forward to his newsletter.

Curie & Community: An open-invitation for all to be part of our curation works - powered by Streemian

Curie, one of the earliest most well known curation guilds on Steemit is changing their process to allow even more members of the community take part in the curation process. Check out this post to find out how.

Drawings and Doodles I did

This post was like a blast from the past for me. I can remember during my teen years doodles like these sold like hotcakes for people to colour with markers. People of all ages spent hours on them. @deadmosco could likely turn these doodles into adult colouring books and sell them on Amazon.

Photographic Reflections - Shooting is Not Just Pressing the Camera Button

@jsantana writes another great post on photography and the ins and outs of doing great photography. Like his title says, it is not all about just pressing the camera button. It is an art that needs to be learned to be done well.

How To Be Creative

@stellabelle shares how she lets her creativity loose. She’s talks about how so many of us loose the creativity and imagination we have as children. We need to let our minds bring that creativity back out and let it play.

Just A Gentle Reminder Today To Help Save You Money

@stratilatkryuko writes an excellent post about how to save money when shopping for the family. The more we save on what we buy, the more we have for emergencies or for things we want.

What is Reiki?

@saramiller posts about Reiki and how it has changed her life. I’ve heard about Reiki over the years but never quite understood that it could be used for healing. I’m always cautious with concepts like this but I don’t completely close my mind to the concept, after all, our minds are far more powerful than we often give them credit for.

Do Not Rush Things, it's Going To Happen When It Needs!

In our hurry, hurry world it is good sometimes to be reminded that everything doesn’t need to be rushed. Sometimes, most of the time, you need to have the confidence to just move forward and take the time that’s needed writes @lonewalker.

Infographic: The History of Money

@penguinpablo brings us an interesting infographic about the history of money. If you aren’t sure what an infographic is, well, it’s like taking a big long article and turning it into a brief pictorial summary. You can gleaned a lot of information from exploring the picture.

Is your first impression about someone always the right impression?

We all engage in judging based on first impressions when we meet other people. It’s when I learned to temper my first impressions with later experiences of the person that I could truly come to appreciate the person for who they are. This goes both ways, from good to bad and back again, because people aren’t just one or the other. We’re a range of impressions.

Wrap-up on Day #65

Another interesting day of reading on Steemit. Always a range of posts to explore. I do a lot of choosing what to read by the headlines, so I’m probably missing some good ones due to headlines that don’t really give me a clue about the topic. Just saying.

Supporting and Upvoting

Let’s not forget folks. I’m sharing these posts not only because I like them. I’d really like to see them get support and upvoting. I know some of the posts have done okay by the time I post my ramble, but some really could use the support and upvoting.

Subscribing to My Posts

In addition to following me on Steemit, which I really appreciate. If you want to be sure to know about every post, you can subscribe at my other blog. I’ll send you an email when I post.
