🗞 Defending Decentralization, Like a Twice in a Millennium Chance

"We haven't had an opportunity like this in the past 500 years."

That's Amir Taaki speaking on a closing panel at the Web3 Summit in Berlin Wednesday, and his statement was greeted with breathless applause by the audience. An early bitcoin developer, Taaki addressed a crowd of more than a thousand coders that had gathered to discuss "Web 3.0" – or the restructuring of internet infrastructures with an emphasis on decentralization.

🗞 Infura: Defeating The Point Of Blockchain?

While some in the cryptosphere appear befuddled that cryptocurrency has not yet reached mass adoption, the explanation seems rather obvious to me. Frankly, using blockchain and crypto is a pain.

First, you have to have enough information to care in the first place. Most people I talk to don't even know what blockchain is, but people already in the space seem to forget how esoteric this stuff is. At the very base level, you have to sell people on the underlying values of decentralization and security, and make them understand, at least in some general way, that blockchain delivers on those promises. This alone is a challenge.

🗞 World’s Largest Crypto Exchange OKEx to Delist 50+ Trading Pairs Due to ‘Weak’ Performance

U.S. cryptocurrency exchange and wallet provider Coinbase has cut “at least” fifteen staff after hiring 250 this year, Yahoo Finance quotes unidentified sources as saying Friday, Oct. 26.

In a curious U-turn following a year of pledges to bolster the number of workers dealing with exploding customer demand, the company confirmed the lay-offs in a statement about its future hiring practices.

🗞 [ Belgium Adds 21 Web sites to List of Fraudulent Crypto Trading Platforms ](https://news.bitcoin.com/belgium-fraudulent-cryptocurrency-trading-platforms/

Today, BREAKER published a story regarding a lapse in journalistic ethics amongst prominent coin journals. Troubled by the number of unsolicited emails he received offering money for media coverage, BREAKER contributor Corin Faife decided to see how other crypto journals responded to such requests.

After setting up a fake email account under the name Nikolay Kostarev, he then emailed 28 coin journals through their "contact" or "advertise" links to inquire about advertising rates. If the website replied with price information, he asked how much it would cost for an article "to not be marked as 'sponsored.'" In other words, he wanted to know if something written by a company could pose as an article.

🗞 VeChain Signs MoU for Blockchain Development with Cyprus

Singapore-based blockchain platform VeChain Foundation, U.S. blockchain startup CREAM, and the national investment partner of the Republic of Cyprus, Invest Cyprus, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), per a press release published Oct. 26. The MoU is focused on establishing a framework in the field of blockchain technologies and related use cases.

Per the MoU, the parties will work on a number of national level investment strategies, which involve blockchain-powered economies and promote blockchain technology, particularly in financial services. The agreement also aims to inform government policy making in the blockchain industry, in addition to facilitating economic development in Cyprus.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

As foreseen and explained to you yesterday, we are going in the direction of the support line around 0.77$. What I want to see on this level is a nice bounce from it. I cannot imagine that we will break it because it would be a very bad news for the STEEM. So let's stay positive and let's see what the market will provide to us.
