🗞 Unconfirmed: US Regulators Could Approve Bakkt BTC Futures Launch in First Week of November

The Intercontinental Exchange’s (ICE) Bakkt cryptocurrency platform could get approval to launch its physically-delivered Bitcoin (BTC) futures product from U.S. regulators next week, an unconfirmed anonymous source told tech outlet The Block Thursday, Oct. 25.

Bakkt, which seeks to create a “regulated ecosystem” for institutional investors looking to gain exposure to cryptocurrency, had previously confirmed it planned to launch its futures product Dec. 12.

Should regulators give the project the green light, ICE’s Bakkt will begin launching its Bitcoin (USD) Daily Futures Contract for clients as soon as the first week of next month, according to an unnamed source “with direct knowledge of the situation,” The Block says.

🗞 Oracle Releases Suite of Blockchain-Based Software for Supply Chain Management

  • Oracle has released a suite of blockchain-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications based on its Oracle Blockchain Cloud Service, reports Cointelegraph.
  • The new products aim to improve trace-ability and transparency throughout supply chains, and provide the ability to verify product authenticity, temperature-control, and reduce paper waste associated with shipments.
  • The launch follows trials with bank and government customers, and the products are built on the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain.

🗞 Investors Received False Information About Bitmain Funding Round

Parties solicited to invest in the pre-initial public offering (IPO) funding round for Bitmain Technologies, Ltd., the leading maker of cryptocurrency mining software and hardware, received pitch decks falsely suggesting the company had secured financial backing from Digital Sky Technologies Global and GIC Private Limited, an investigation by CoinDesk has found.

The question is who put those misrepresentations into the pitch decks. CoinDesk was unable to verify the authenticity of the three versions identified and reviewed outside of those who received them because Bitmain has not responded to multiple inquiries concerning their production and dissemination, even though all of them printed the company name and a confidentiality warning on each slide, and two versions prescribed deadlines and methods on bank wiring instructions.

🗞 AMD Takes a Hit, Johnny Depp and Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Cryptosphere

AMD published its third-quarter financial results this week, recording a sharp decline in the sale of GPUs to cryptocurrency miners. The U.S. semiconductor manufacturer said its revenue fell by 6 percent quarter over quarter, sending its stock down as low as 22 percent on Wednesday, before eventually closing down 9.17 percent for the day.

Eccentric movie star Johnny Depp has signed a deal with a crypto company, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Depp is said to have agreed to develop and produce film and digital content in partnership with Tatatu, a self-described entertainment platform that incentivizes content consumption by offering digital tokens for views. Back in May, news.Bitcoin.com reported that the startup had started working on a biopic about famed Italian industrialist Ferruccio Lamborghini, starring Alec Baldwin.

A lot of eyebrows were raised earlier this year following claims that a token would be launched under the name of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, the late Wu-Tang Clan rapper. But now it seems that an ODB coin is really about to hit the market. The token presale, now listed on Alt Market, promises that supporters will receive free exclusive merchandise, inside information on upcoming events, and exclusive access to promotions and shows.

🗞 Tether Treasury Holds Nearly 30% of Total USDT Supply

The “Tether Treasury’s” USDT wallet has rapidly risen up the ranks to become the top holder of the stablecoin, suggesting that some market participants may have managed to successfully withdraw their holdings from circulation. The removal of roughly 28.5 percent of the total number of Tether in circulation has coincided with a significant depletion in the amount of USDT held in two wallets separately owned by Binance and Huobi.

The support line in green looks strong and we are taking some distance from it : good news ! We have now to break the previous high around 0.87$. This break will be really the short term signal for the start of a new UP trend. Let's see if we can reach that objective. We are almost at 0.84$ when I'm writting this article so this is really possible.

    Buying in the pre-Cristmas rush may prove to be the best time. Or stick to Nvidia cards which aren't as badly affected by mining and probably offer more bang for their buck right now.
