Another Bitcoin Fork possibly to Happen this October 2017
Aside from the expected November 2017 fork, a lot of people in the Bitcoin community do not know about another fork called 'Bitcoin Gold' (BTG) which is set to happen on October 25, 2017.
Bitcoin Gold is another token created by Jack Liao. Liao is the founder of Lightning ASIC is known as the anonymous developer named 'h4x3'.
The purpose of this forked protocol is to change Bitcoin's consensus mechanism which will allow users to mine the cryptocurrency with graphic processing units or GPU.
Bitcoin Gold will not use SHA256 but instead will use Equihash Algorithm used by Zcash.
It will implement User Activated Hard Fork (UAHF) to accept GPU mining where miners can select the block size they want to mine and which includes replay and wipeout protection.
Jack Liao first announced the fork in Bitcointalk.org and recently posted in their Twitter account to hold Bitcoin on October 25 and get free Bitcoin Gold on November 01.
Bahrain might embrace Bitcoin and Issue Bonds in Cryptocurrencies
Bahrain is an island country in the Middle East and currently has a growing interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurencies.
The government of Bahrain has been eyeing the blockchain industry. The chief executive of the Economic Development Board, Khalid Al Rumaihi hopes that they could issue bonds on cryptocurrencies.
According to www.thehindubusinessline.com the country will look at cryptocurrencies and to allow experimentation in a controlled environment, the government wants to implement a regulatory sandbox.
This regulatory sandbox is similar with that of Singapore and UK and they are already working with Bahrain Central Bank which had recently put in place with the RegulatorySandbox. There are also four more companies who are currently applying in this regard and two were already approved by the central bank.
