Ahhhhh. LiteCoin! I've always loved it!

About 6 mths ago... I was wondering which site would show me all that info, and likely even more things.

So I searched for it using "Next LiteCoin Halving" since I was wondering when it was, how this might affect value etc. and some other things.

And this is the site right here, which has a cool built in countdown timer/ticker counting down the days til the next halving which is set for Aug. 15th 2019 -- which I can remember easily because that is my birthday week!

Litecoin's block mining reward halves every 840,000 blocks, the coin reward will decrease from 25 to 12.5 coins.

LiteCoin has made HUGE gains again lately, for various reasons.

-- The policy/politics of Bitcoin and their struggles to address the scaling issues, the potential resulting (now, NEXT) fork from these issues, 3-5 types (forks) of $BTC on the market and more potentially coming, it is kind of a mess. But improving.

LiteCoin has none of these problems, and in fact, their miners DID adopt SegWit activation about 5 mths. ago now.

LiteCoin shares the Bitcoin codebase, if you did not know. They have implemented the Lightning Network as well a few weeks ago.

-- 5.5 mths ago, (~22 weeks, March 2017) $LTC was around $5 USD.

It had been there a long time. Not long after, it started to rise and stayed about the $8 range.

Then just after that.... it had mooned and hit (then) recent all time highs in the $11 USD range.

The factors vary but a lot of it has to do with the Bitcoin scaling and political issues in the community most people feel.
