I was tempted to buy myself and my wife this nice looking crypto wallet, but noo, they want me to pay via Paypal!

That's, like.. a sacrilege!

Nah. I ordered some Trezor and Ledger nano wallets instead. But I would have liked to get myself one or two of these too.

Anyway, does anyone know if they are really secure? Which ones are the best?

@gamer00,
Oh bro paying to buy a crypto HW wallet by paypal :D Anyway Trezor and Ledger, both are good to hold coins!

Cheers~

Where do people usually keep their hardware wallets? Don't tell me they are kept in safe deposit boxes at the bank. ;D

I think people keep the wallets with them. Only the 24 word seed key should be kept in a safe or a deposit box. I'm thinking I would probably encrypt it and then put it somewhere safe, then burn the paper with the list.

You can safely lose the physical wallet, because you can always buy another one and use the same seed key to get your wallet back. Interesting stuff. :)

What do you need the hardware wallet for since you can generate all the keys from the seed?

How easily can you access the funds in the wallet?

The hardware wallet is for making easy payments and creating new crypto addresses other people can pay to. You can use one with a computer, or even an android or an iphone using a USB cable.

All transactions require using a pin number you have pre-programmed onto the unit. Also, I hear on some devices it is possible to add a secondary password for more security, or even a hidden wallet.

Interesting. So these features make it worth your while to get one. Maybe I will follow suit one day. :)

Yeah, I've got my ledger a few days ago too.
I talked to people who has both wallets and checked a lot of information on the web so... I believe it's more secure than trezor.

You have one?

Have you tried sending coins from it? This guy had some problems with that:

My friends use it. I have one but will install it later, after I buy my new PC setup.
They all say it's super easy to use and already sent cryptos dozen of times.

Before buying I checked all available information about Ledger and Trezor and I'm confident that Ledger is less vulnerable to hacks then Trezor.

why U no take Crypto for my order

I pick that from your topic. This is a kind of English that is we Nigerians called Broken English. It makes your conversation with another to be casual. So instead of talking in English with a fellow, we basically talk in broken english. Nice One. I dont have an hard ware wallet. But I hear about Nano ledger most times.

Heh, well it may be broken English, that's true. It was my lousy attempt at the "Y U no" -meme, somehow I wasn't paying attention and used "why" instead of "Y". ;) Maybe I should've even created a meme for it like this:

Edit: I added this to the post. :)

Pretty funny how you can't pay with crypto for a crypto drive. Seems pretty reliable though, but sorry I don't have much technical knowledge on them :(.

As the network of bitcoin is taking so long per transaction and taking an insane amount of fees I can understand why they wouldn't take bitcoin, nevertheless, they could still use some other alt coins if they really wanted too.

You could still use some prepaid Master card with Bitcoins or other convolute solution but at the end of the day, I guess I only want to hit pay and be done with it.

Also I have a friend that use the ledger and he has not said anything bad about it, I am thinking in the future I should get one for when Steemit hits and the mainstream and everyone gets filthy rich. Cheers

Bitcoin hard wallet that you cant buy with bitcoin?
Thats just mind blowing to me.

you should post about the wallets you get, it would be helpful to people like me that are still trying to understand it or pick one.
:D

Ledger Nano simply because it is cheaper, it is newer and the company is better known, for me no matter which wallet you choose between these two, both are very good.

This is new information to me! Thank you for sharing!
I have a friend who is making lots of money and she uses Tresor!

PayPal is trying to be nice and tricky!! Very naughty!
Glad you didn't fall for it!

Cheers.
