The art portion of my contest ended a few days ago and @sad-dad was the winner with this photograph.

Because of the Christmas Holiday, I have decided to run this writing contest for two weeks, instead of the usual one week.

Writers are tasked with writing an original piece of fiction using the photograph as a story prompt. It can be anywhere between 500 and 1500 words - but unless voting is close, there is some leeway.

Writers have until 23:59 UTC / GMT on the 7th January to submit a link to their original post in the replies below.

There will be one overall winner who will receive 20 Steem plus the SBD payout from this post. Two runners up will each win 5 Steem.

Upvotes to increase the prize pool would be much appreciated, but are by no means compulsory. Resteems to get the word out wouldn't hurt either.
