Robert was a successful banker who lived in the city of Miami, his wife Karen was one of the most beautiful women in the city, they were the most envied couple in the city of Miami.

Both successful and young, but what nobody knew was that privately they were unhappy. Their marriage had deteriorated with the years to the point where they slept in separate rooms.

Robert in his eagerness to achieve success in his career, worked until late at night in his office, and was almost never home. In just a few years, Robert achieved what he wanted, his promotion at work, and becoming the bank's best finance advisor, with a portfolio of influential and wealthy clients. But his ambition was slowly taking away his marriage.

Karen loved Robert, but his work and ambition consumed all his time, she felt lonely, and although at first she tried to talk to Robert about how she felt, he just told her to "have patience, love, once we are rich, things will improve and I will have more time to share with you " but Robert never kept his promise.

Karen a month ago had asked Robert to move into the guest room, although Robert initially refused,at the end he had to agree to move when Karen threatened to leave. Karen thought that finally Robert would understand that he should take his marriage seriously or divorce.

Robert did not understand his wife, he thought that the money would make up for all the time he did not spend with her, that filling her with luxuries and buying her jewelry was the solution for everything. Because that's why he had worked so hard for his wife to have everything money could buy. Robert loved her and was afraid that Karen would want to leave him.

Robert felt that each day that passed Karen drifted away more, they almost never talked, they lived like two strangers inside the same house. Robert knew that.
If he didn’t do something soon, he would lose her forever, so he devised a plan to recover his love and his marriage.

One day when Karen arrived home, Robert was waiting for his dressed in him best suit, hired a chef to prepare dinner and had the table beautifully decorated for the occasion. Karen was surprised by Robert's romantic gesture, she could not remember the last time they had had a romantic evening together.

Karen for the first time in months felt that her marriage had a chance, she saw Robert from before, that man she fell in love with.

Robert approached Karen and said: "I know I've been a fool to think that by filling you with jewels and luxuries, you would be happy. I took away the most important part of our relationship, our time together", "I ask you to give me a second chance to show you that I can change and give you the priority you deserve "," I love you and I do not want to lose you, I would give my life for you ".

Karen listened attentively and replied: "Robert also loved you, and if I took you out of our room it was because I wanted you to react, I thought that way you would realize that you hurt me with your behavior… Of course I'll give you another chance". They both looked at each other, and between tears in their eyes, they kissed. That night Robert went back to sleep with Karen.

It had been months since the reconciliation of Robert and Karen, Christmas was coming, so Robert planned to go to the mountains of Wyoming, wanted to get away from Miami and have a snowy Christmas. He bought the plane tickets and rented a cabin in the mountains, it was the Christmas gift he would give to Karen. A few days before the trip Robert gave the surprise to Karen.

Both left for the airport to take their flight, when the plane landed after a few hours, Robert and Karen went to the car rental office, Robert chose to rent a Jeep that would be very useful in the mountains. The girl in the rental office advised them to stay in the city for the night and leave for the morning in the mountains, which at that time of the year unleashed freezing storms without warning. Robert thanked her for his advice, but he preferred to continue the trip and get to the cabin before midnight.

The trip went smoothly as they left the city, but when he was driving down the road to the mountains, a storm broke out that at first was not strong, so they enjoyed watching the sunset fall; the view was spectacular and they enjoyed the landscape for a long time.

After a couple of hours the storm worsened and the visibility of seeing the road was getting worse. Robert began to worry and regreted not having heard the girl from the car rental office. Robert did not express his fears to Karen, and he told her that there were still a few hours to go, that she better try to sleep for a while and that when she woke up they would have reached their destination.

Karen slept peacefully, while Robert was immersed in trying to see the road, when suddenly a deer crossed the road, Robert tried to dodge it by all means, but the car skidded and went off the road, turning in the forest.

When Robert woke up saw that Karen was badly injured, as he could untied his seatbelt, and approached her to check her injuries, Karen reacted as she heard Robert say his name, and Robert in his desperation told her not to worry that he would seek help, that everything would go well. As he could, he moved Karen and tried to make her as comfortable as possible. Robert came out of the forest and started running along the edge of the road, it was still snowing copiously, and as he looked back he saw his tracks on the road.

In a few minutes Robert looked at the lights of a car in the distance, beckoned him and the car stopped, desperately Robert told the driver of the car that he needed help, that his wife was in the car badly injured, to call emergency . The help arrived shortly and they took Karen out of the car, to take her to the ambulance and the nearest hospital, Robert never left Karen, when she entered the surgery room to heal her injuries, Robert let go of her hand. When the nurse approached him to tell him that they would be reporting Karen's health status after surgery, Robert fell to the ground.

The nurse asked for help, and that was when they realized that Robert had a serious wound that he kept pressed all the time, to seek the help that Karen needed, Robert had lost a lot of blood and when CPR was applied it was very late, he suffered a shock that paralyzed his heart, he was declared dead a few minutes later.

Karen woke up a few hours after the operation, and they informed her what had happened, she could not believe that her husband was dead, Robert gave his life for Karen. The doctor informed her that if Robert had not acted so quickly in seeking help she and her son would be dead. Karen was disconcerted when the doctor told her about her son, when the doctor informed her that she was pregnant. Karen did not know it, but having Robert's son in her womb gave her the strength and drive to continue her life, that was Robert's best gift.
