New Initiative - Random Power Ups For My Favourite Comments
To keep things interesting and to try to encourage engagement I will from time to time be powering up the accounts of people who give the best comments on my posts.
I can't give any guarantees on this because for obvious reasons I can't power up the account for every great comment.
One thing I will say is that people who upvote their own comments will be excluded because it might give them an unfair visibility advantage.
I also reserve the right to modify this based on financial circumstances and any attempts that people may make to game this (although I can't think of any way it could be gamed right now).
Anyway as long as you act honestly and make good comments you could win.

You do so much for making Steemit a better place. We need something like this ESPECIALLY now at this time because Steemit is being flooded by new people just trying to make a buck. Most posts are filled with copy and paste spam comments asking for up votes or follows directly or indirectly.
I have always very much respected how you have dedicated your interaction on Steemit to cultivating conscious interactions. Once upon a time the comments on good posts were almost as valuable and sometimes more valuable than the posts them selfs. This still happens from time to time but is very rare.
Your posts will be a heaven for this and stimulate valuable exchanges.
I hope a lot of people are inspired by your leadership and follow suit!
Steemit is a community project and it is up to us to make it what we want. This is a great step in that direction.

Yea I was off of Steemit for 8 months scouting land in South America for my next Eco Village project. I am super stoked to be back though as I have always really loved Steemit. Great to see your still making this a better place as usual.

Not lately - been very busy with getting back to work so can't spend as much time on here as I would like and my feed is a nightmare to follow. I will check it out though:)

You made one lengthy essay regarding the topic so every bit of SP you got is well deserved.
Although I didn't win it was fun typing a long paragraph regarding BTC and what it should be used as since I've recently started getting into crypto and it was good to expand my mind regarding the subject.
I can't wait for more of them, that is if there is going to be anymore haha
Hopefully other people will do it too - that way it will make it fun to get more people engaging and commenting:)
First of all, you're doing a great favor for Steemit Minnows or should I say the people who deserve a lot. Whenever I open a hot or trending post and go through it's comments, I see a lot of people commenting on it senselessly. It's pretty obvious that they are just trying to make money by posting random comments on popular posts. Most of them are minnows or newbies on Steemit and they don't have the followers to get the exposure they need on their blogpost. They just want to make money, that's it.
On one hand, some of the minnows never focus on their content, they don't have patience and all in all they want money, that's it. On ther hand there are some minnows who are extraordinary in their work and work hell a lot to provide good quality content on Steemit but still they don't get the exposure they need, now that where you come in @thecryptofiend . You give them opportunity to gain some exposure as well as Steem power for their future growth on Steemit. You even publish the link of their content so that people could visit their account and read their post and even follow them. THAT'S what Steemit needs, that's why steemit is designed, to give opportunites to people who have desires to be BIG by doing hard work and focusing determination.
There are only a few people who thinks about others, and they are the people who deserve to be great. "Only together we can rise" this quote does suite your mindset on Steemit.
So I request all the minnows or Whales that please focus on your work on Steemit, don't worry money will come for sure because Hard Work always pays off.

Well I hope it makes it more rewarding for people to comment - I think quite often people who make great comments feel like they don't get read or rewarded. Hopefully this will give people extra encouragement. I hope other users do the same too.
Usually the comment is buried in the sea of "good article" and "followed and resteemed". Sometimes sad, because a comment is considered an article (some really look like and article). Something to take care in the future so I welcome your initiative.
Yes. In fact sometimes I take almost as much time on my comments as some shorter posts - at least I used to, but it is disheartening when it feels like they get buried and hardly anyone reads them.

It is very helpful for new users or miniows (yeah iam new too) to grow up, but besides that, many new users are not getting attention, it talks about the quality of the content or the works they make with difficulty. Many new users who have created excellent content quality, or interesting works.
I wish whale like you, able to take your time to see the posting of new users
