Whoop whoop! @ireenchew is a professional hotelier and has been in the business for years. With that experience, she has cooked up something neat and tidy for you peeps this week for our official Steemitbloggers Contest. Let's show some support ey!

Most of us travel quite a fair bit and sometimes the most unexpected happens be it good, bad or funny. Well for this week, we'll like to hear about your experience when staying out. Share with us those sleepless nights with loud banging sound next door to moving objects in the room. The more hilarious or peculiar it is, the better.

This was right before Christmas, and there was a bit of a regional cold snap, so the city was extra chilly.

Our hostel decided to compensate for this by cranking up the heat to keep the rooms toasty which I definitely appreciated. On the second day of the trip, after being out in the city all day exploring in the cold air, we got back to the hostel to warm up and relax a bit before heading out for the night. I decided to shower so grabbed my things and went into the small bathroom to freshen up.

The water was delightfully warm, and melted all the ice out of by bones. I was verrrry relaxed stepping out of the tub. And that is when it happened...

The photo in the title is the Gresham Hotel in Dublin. It is situated adjacent to the Millennium Spire on O Connell street in Dublin. The Gresham is close to my heart as I stayed in this hotel for six months. Yes, that is right. I was a resident there for six months. So I saw things, lots of things...

Soo as we soon found out, all the AirBnbs and stuff were booked. But one guy offered us that we could share his mountain hut with another group of people - they're fine with it. WOOHOOO, we're gonna meet with another group of young people and share hut in the mountains together!

Somehow or another, my dad stumbled across one of those "last minute vacation deals." He could get a ridiculously good deal for his family of 4 to fly to Cancun, Mexico and stay in an all-inclusive resort. So he went ahead and booked the trip, and a few short days later we were on a plane headed to Mexico...

And then I heard laughter; a girl laughing; but where? I stood up to get a better view over the tables stacked with chairs and heard another giggle coming from across the dining room I suddenly was in that was next to the swimming pool in the open air. Hey, it’s Thailand I thought. It was then that I found myself with choices: I could sit back down again and pretend to be invisible. Or, I could go towards the sound of a girl laughing...

I forgot that the roomservice could be quick, so When I was finished showering and came out of the small bathroom to pick My bathrobe from the bed, There he was, Our roomservice attendent!

It was old and silent, and there would be breakfast waiting for me when I woke up and there would be no one at all around to greet me in the morning or anything like that! Just an empty big old place, with a bedroom that was cold and frightening. Even worse there was no wifi, and I would be lucky to get the merest sliver of a mobile phone signal. Needless to say, it was pretty spooky!
