The Inspiration
I was inspired to write this post because of a contest that @mountainjewel is hosting a where you write a post about another Steemian who you admire. I'm still getting to know people and I've encountered many who inspire me, but the person I chose was @davemccoy.
The McCoy
I've known Dave for most of the four weeks that I've been on Steemit. He is online often and his posts are informative. He readily shares whatever he's learning about. He also spends a LOT of time working on helping other newbies. He even started the #newbieresteemday with @mudcat36!
Where as I wander around Steemit as a hobby, Dave is actively (that word seems to come up a lot when thinking of Dave) networking and building a place where people can be welcomed, trained, and equipped for succeeding on Steemit.

I can't think of anyone better for this kind of recognition over the last few weeks than @davemccoy so well done @themanwithnoname. Especially when he's just barely getting started himself.
But, that just goes to show how years of experience outside of Steemit actually can add value here if enough of us are actually doing what we're supposed to be doing—reading and not just posting, interacting and not just curating and helping others the best way we know how instead of only helping ourselves.
I think all of those positive qualities define what @davemccoy has been doing here to a tee.
I just hope this doesn't all go to his head. :)
lol... Thanks for that reminder Glen, I needed someone to keep my feet firmly planted ;) ... You always have that wit that comes through during these little sentences we speak. I can't imagine how much fun we'd have if we ever get together for a beer
Seriously though, it won't go to my head (I promise) and you are dead on as usual about the experience outside adding value. I think many of our teammates don't even understand the talented people already assembled and aligned with us. We are still new and learning each day the things in steemit, but we also have perspectives and talents that can be shared and leveraged in a unique way through this platform.
The beauty of the #newbieresteemday initiative is that everyone truly wants to help others to succeed and get better, and as a result they are participating and helping in the way that suits them. I'm amazed at what people are doing. And I'm happy to call them friends. (and even have a beer someday with them too!) ;)

My friend, the man who I don't know his name, this is a tremendous thing you did in my eyes and I thank you very very much. I'm touched that you would do this and frankly, I am stunned as I check the feed before I'm getting ready to "take the night off" and sleep ;) ... (now I gladly hit the keyboard to make sure that I show you the proper respect)... I'll trade sleep for that compliment every night of my life. :)
I know that I'm the loudest out here, so you think all of these very cool achievements are mine, but in reality I'm just one of "you". You know who "you" are (and that goes for all of the other "yous" too) ... (say that 5 times fast) lol ...
Seriously though, I am like everyone else that I've connected to in my short time here. I believe in people and I care that my friends do well. I have seen such amazing spirit and kindness, that I wake up every morning excited to see what comes next. I spend so much time on this, not because of money or any praise I might get, but because I have been inspired by my new friends. I want to see you all succeed and I want to help you in any way I can. I think this platform has the potential to change many lives for the better, and I'm hoping many of them includes you.
One day I may know the name of the man that is my good friend here, but until that day comes I will happily be your teammate and do my part to make our team succeed. I thank you sincerely with all the passion I can put into words.

Wow. I really amazed with your development @davemccoy. I still remembered when were both starting out. Am really proud if you man. Nowadays, im really busy with school works but am more inspired because of you. Thanks man. You're a great man.

Great choice @themanwithnoname a lot of us newbies admire the hard work he does. I think some big people are now beginning to notice it. He started a small school for newbies last month and has now grown to different initiatives. Not all can be a motivator like him. Great leader, I wish he becomes a whale soon because he is the good kind of whale that we need. :)
