Steemians need to take the advantage of communities on the blockchain.
I currently work as a searcher with @bigwaves , a Nigerian community that is geared towards elevating and encouraging steemians especially users with “good content.”
It is really confusing to tell what a good content is. Well, I saw a topic from @berniesanders blog few days back which state thus - what is a good content?
Relatively, it is hard and difficult to give a precise definition to that question. One thing is that, no matter how much definitions people has ascribed to it, it will remain an ambiguity. Also, its varies depending on how and what perspective the viewer's discretion is tinting towards.
Nevertheless, from the conventional principles of the steem blockchain. The concept of a good content is based on the “proof of brain”. That is, the originality of an article or content either video, audio or written etc.
Thus, it is essential for every user on the platform to take cognizance of this little but paramount parameter. This is the only pass to the heart of Steemit community at large.
What is community?
A community is a collective groups comprised of individuals who have a common objectives and ideology. Meanwhile, in this case the steem blockchain is directly or indirectly the end goal in view of any community. Even, Steemit itself is a community.
Few among the communities on the blockchain started off as an idea on the blockchain. While, some idea spring up off the blockchain but now incorporated into the blockchain. Exactly, the point is that, each communities exist independently and simultaneously. “But like an experiment which have a solution in view, the steem blockchain is always every communities target and end product”. More like an end to their means.
Several communities existed for several purposes. Also, some have a long term goals while others short term goals, depending on their idiosyncrasies and policies.
E.g we have communities that specializes in encouraging Science, Technology, English and Mathematics contents on the blockchain @steemstem
Meanwhile, we have a NGO on the blockchain, they propagate about the Girl child Support and Education @girlsfoundation
Also, the community that saw a good and brighter side of the Africans especially west is also geared towards elevating African steemians not at the expense of other steemians though. @wafrica
Furthermore, a community where your voice will be heard and every tear drop count. Also, where everyone has something to offer. @teardrops @steemgigs
The first health care initiative powered by the blockchain @air-clinic
Promoting African culture especially the pidgin dialect @naijapidgin
First steem accelerator hub community @stach
Lastly, an incubator for all artisans on the blockchain @theartisangroup and many others.
Benefits of a community
In a very succinct terms, the benefits of a community will be highlighted as follows;
• Interpersonal relationships and fostering a healthy communication.
• Building your network not a net worth. that is, having empire of friends next to you.
• Finding your niche and becoming a better steemian through tutorials from friends.
• Getting first hand experience and information.
• Growth in all ramifications e.g reputation score, upvote and sometimes recommendation etc.
Why do you have to join and harness your potentials in a community?
It is a herculean task for most people (if not all) starting their blogging career on the steem blockchain. Sometimes, the expert from the other world (off the blockchain) can will turn a novice while using the blockchain.
It is really complex and technical, to be sincere with you guys. This is my second year gradually on the platform and here I am still learning few things day after day. Nobody is an island of knowledge, so hold unto that for now.
Often times, the successful story of steemians you heard about started off from a community. Observing and pretty much learning from others. No one rose to the zenith on the very first few months they joined. Learn and cultivate the habit of learning!
