Random Acts of Kindness - Keep The Christmas Spirit On
It is said that karma comes back to you in more ways than one. You always feel good when you engage in a random act of kindness. It is the best way to give back to the world we live in - no matter how small the act may seem
Given below are 18 ways to give to others and feel good that your good deed shall make someone's day.
Give compliments. Nothing could be easier than this. Find something good to say and compliment another person. When was the last time that you thought something good about someone in your mind but did not say it out loud? Say it!
Send an email appreciating someone for his or her help or for a job well done. Not only will the appreciation motivate others but it will increase your credibility as someone who genuinely appreciates things.
On days like Fathers Day or Mothers Day spend time, personally or on the phone with someone who may have lost a parent recently.
Spend time with anyone who may be sick. Remember spending your time is the greatest gift to someone who may be sick. If you cant't make it personally, give them a calla and spend a few minutes speaking to them.
Create a small book of anecdotes about a person whom you may have known who may pass away. It will be a beautiful gift to give to the near and dear of a deceased person.
Call up elders in your area when there is a natural calamity like a storm or an earthquake to find out whether they are okay. It only costs a phone call but can make a big difference to an elderly person.
When someone you know is talking negative because of some event or incident in his or her life, try and help the person find the positive in it. It may be something very small but it will register in the person's mind and will ease the sorrow and anxiety.
If you're visiting someone in hospital, it will be a great idea to also take flowers for the nurses who take care of the person who is ill.
If you live in an area where it rains frequently, keep an extra umbrella which you can lend out.
This is one of the best acts of kindness that you can engage in. Listen when someone wants to speak a bit. No one really listens and if you do, especially if it is a 10 minute rant, people will feel good after speaking to you.
Keep candies in your pocket when you go out. You can give it to kids especially underprivileged children if you happen to come across them.
Recollect a happy memory for your family or friends. Sometimes remembering a great event or day in the past can make someones day.
Offer a ride to someone who may be stranded on the road or a colleague who may not have his or her own transport.
If you know someone who is a cook ask for a recipe of a dish made frequently.
When you see a homeless person, buy him something to eat.
After a meal at a restaurant, call the chef and thank him for the great food that you ate.
Donate to charity once a while because every drop counts.
Last but not the least, read others posts on Steemit and upvote and comment on them. Knowing that someone read the post and appreciated it can really make a Steemit member's day!
