Our @BuddyUP community is growing and so is the quality content inside the POST POOL channels. Often, that content can be easily missed in the vast ocean of Steemit.

It’s our mission at BuddyUP to grow together, support each other and highlight the fantastic content that is created by our members. As part of that mission, we showcase talented content creators within the BuddyUP community, who also display a positive attitude and a community mindset, through our weekly curation post, **Hook ‘Em Up!**

@wolv

Herald the return of @wolv, one of the early visionaries of the BuddyUP community, the man who planted the seeds of our community alongside @calumam way back in January 18'.

He stepped away from Steemit for a bit, but he's now back with a vengeance! In a recent post, he shares his motto:

Jump now, figure out how to land later.

A motto which has transformed his life from safe and boring, too risky yet fun!

I can honestly say even after a lot of bad landings… My life has become more fun. The more I stick to the motto the more fun it is. I most certainly will end up heavily scarred… But every scar will have a story.

That motto led him to take a job in another country where this self-proclaimed introvert had no friends, yet learned how to adapt. Twists and turns abound in this tale of risk and consequences, with lessons learned along the way.

One of our dearest BuddyUP members vulnerably tells her story of abuse at the hands of her Dad, amidst the suffering and loss of her Mom to cancer, when she was just a child. Her intent is to inspire, not garner sympathy. Read her inspirational post here, setting the stage for her most recent post.

Her Dad, sent to prison 27 years ago, was up for clemency this week and @monchhichi23 had the opportunity to speak before the parole board. She describes the anxiety and emotion of walking into that room to face the man who had never faced up to his wrongs.

Unexpectedly, @monchhichi23 heard him admit, for the first time, to his crimes and describes how an enormous weight was lifted off of her. He was DENIED clemency! She was now able to close a chapter in her life.

Although he humbly refuses the title of “Fearless Leader”, preferring to shift focus to the efforts of the community, I think everyone in the BuddyUP community recognizes the impact his leadership has had on the formation and progress of our community.

It’s time we show him some appreciation and respect for ALL he has done and continues to do. There is so much more than can be outlined here, but some of the highlights include:

• Creation of the BuddyUp discord server where he actively engages all users in order to build authentic community

• Constant learning, growing and evolving the BuddyUp server to enhance engagement and growth of the community

• Overseeing creation of the BuddyUp token and the Request-A-Bud bot to encourage engagement within the community

• Overseeing Drop In The Ocean—where community members create posts on a chosen topic and share in the weekly voice chat. Once the top posts are voted on, @calumam writes the DITO post revealing the winners.

• And MUCH, MUCH MORE!

My CYC (Chart Your Course) was structured more heavily around our BuddyUP community. Sometimes your own purpose transcends a lot higher than your own self.

Hello! I'm dropping by for a couple of reasons today, firstly to thank @coachjj for the wonderful words she left above about myself and others, for her hard work on all the Hook 'Em Up posts previous to this one, and, to thank her for her continued support with our community. She's been here since the very beginning and she's always encouraging and spurring us all on!

Why am I thanking JJ now? Well, she's decided to step down from writing Hook 'Em Up this week which will make room for somebody else to step in starting next Friday. We've hugely appreciated the time and effort she's been putting in and how she's started off the feature, you've done us all proud!
