Lately the #comedyopenmic people have started to notice philosophers can be pretty funny. Even @amirtheawesome1 (not the be confused with amirtheawesome-the-second) has said I am in his top-10, and he is awesome, so, therefore, it must be true.

Maybe the funniness of philosophers is not very obvious to most people, but that's why not everybody can be a judge on @comedyopenmic like @diebitch.
EDIT: okay, I just heard, anyone can be a judge actually, but still it's a good argument.

Philosophers are among the most funny people on steem.

So far I have only noticed two philosophers on steem: myself, @samueldouglas and someone who should not be named. If there are any others, please reveal yourself!

But now: THE LIST:

(drum roll...)

Why Philosophers Think They Are Funny

My loyal readers might know I really like lists.
I wrote a list of 1000 reasons of why I am funny.
And I wrote poem list of things about my book: A Writer's List.

So it is time to present to you,
from the depth of my intellect,
presented EXCLUSIVELY ON STEEM,
a list of why philosophers think they are funny.

I hope you are ready to be amazed.

Why philosophers think they're funny

  1. Because they think.

Cogito ergo hilarius.

Nominated to think to be funny: @hispeedimagins and @tanglebranch -- to think is to be. May the force be with you!

Cogito ergo scribo disclaimers

when i hear poopoosopers babble.....blah-bla-bla....blah-balh---scribo (i like that)...blah-blah-blah

@nobyeni, thank you for this very thoughtful and well thought out funny post. Remember to nominate 2 people for this round. Thanks

yes, thank you, I forgot. Thinking about being funny drains most of my energy at the moment...

No worries, I know how energy draining and time consuming these things can be. Thanks for using the last bits of your energy to remedy that ;)

Interesting take, exposing the capitalist greedy mentality of deception leaving me to wonder about the very rise of socialism in countries such as the U.S and the rise of popularity of Bernie among millennial Americans as they approach their demands with a sense of entitlement that is unmatched by past generations, that sense is accompanied by the dangerous behavior of attention seeking and a continuous victimizing of the self while facing little-to-no challenge exposing the fragility of the people in the face of actually adversary. Good piece. Funny.

Funny. Agreed. The Bernie Generation. Bernie with his body guards that are locked and loaded with guns. Interesting contrast you make here. A good contrast indeed. Thanks.

Glad you see it too.

I did upvote your post, but it took a while since I had to think about it first as a proper philosopher would. I will probably resteem but first, my lawyers are reviewing your disclaimer. They promised some feedback within 2 business days, so stay tuned.

Sure thing. Just be aware that business is closed for the remainder of the year, due to popularity of the @comedyopenmic thing. It's okay if you didn't know yet. Maybe you didn't read your lawyer's disclaimer?

That's my fault. I didn't want to read it in his office because he charges by the hour. I'm just going to go ahead and re-steem your post and fire my lawyer

After reading this comment, I decided to upvote the post too. Oh, lawyers? Haha. Interesting. Disclaimers are fun to have. Or they would be if they weren't so legal.

Ha! Agreed. When thinking of matters of life, the universe, and everything, it all seems funny. Therefore, the mind that ponders of them is a funny mind to appreciate the humour.

Haha, I think I am funny, therefore I am, haha. Does that make me or us philosophers or nerds? Can nerds be philosophers and vice versa? I've been told I was funny all my life since I was ten or so. I'm from Oregon. How funny I may or may not be could be debated. My name is Oatmeal. Haha, but not funny.

But thanks for this post because I kind of forget this but I think it is true that philosophers think think they are funny. Sometimes, I might laugh at something @Stefan.Molyneux says for example. I tend not to laugh at slap stick comedy. I mean, I can, sometimes, but I generally laugh at puns, sarcasm, a focus on irony, paradoxes, broken logic, and other things, found in life. Oh, maybe I should click on your disclaimer link...... I will do that now...... edit: upvoted.

You're funny...

ps. you do know that statement has several meanings, right?

Which statement has more than one meaning, what you said or what I said? You said I was funny and I know funny has different funny.... ehhh, edit, mean different meanings: funny can mean like haha and also weird. And what I said was from that joke thing, I think, therefore I am. Maybe you were talking about that. And that would ave different meanings for the same word, funny, which funny, and funny you said that, cuz my mom is named Funny. Just kidding haha. Ok. Going to bed. Funny. Star Wars. Got a funny feeling about this. Fun House. Wait, I mean Full House. Which was funny.
