Our trip to New Zealand was limited to the South Island because of time constraint. Christchurch is the largest city in the island. We started from the city, drove a loop and back to the city on New Year’s Eve. We spent some time to stroll at the downtown. Saw some buildings damaged by the powerful earthquakes, and realized that New Zealand is not always heaven. We also visited Christchurch Botanic Garden. The huge trees in the garden are very impressive.

由于时间所限，我们在新西兰的行程只限于南岛。我们飞到南岛最大的城市基督城，开车绕岛，然后在元旦前夕回到基督城。在市中心游荡时看到了一些被地震摧毁的建筑，才意识到新西兰并非永远是天堂。基督城有个植物园，园中很多形态各异的参天大树是在别处没有见过的。
