雨中一只高山鹦鹉守望在亚瑟山口
We drove to Christchurch from west coast through Arthur's pass on the New Year's eve. The south island of New Zealand is not large, but the humid rainforests of the west coast is totally different from the barren mountains of the east side. New Zealand is 12 hours in advance of Greenwich Time. Because of daylight saving time, one more hour earlier. We greeted the earliest New Year in the quiet Christchurch city.
元旦前夕，我们从西岸出发翻越亚瑟山口开往东岸的基督城。新西兰的南岛并不大，总共只有几个小时的车程，但是西岸潮湿的雨林和东部干旱的荒山判若两个世界。新西兰比北京还早四个小时。由于夏令时又提前一个小时。在安静的基督城我们迎来了最早的一个新年。
