From Tekapo to Mount Cook

There is only one and a half hours drive from Lake Tekapo to Mount Cook National park. However, we spent lots of time to fill the gas. Because it’s Christmas, there’s no staff at the gas station. The gas pump only accepts credit cards with chips embedded and also asks password. Our credit cards have no password, and the machine refused to accept. On the other hand, our ATM cards do not have the chips.

从Tekapo湖到库克山

从Tekapo湖到库克山国家公园只有一个多小时的车程。但是我们花费了许多时间加油。因为临近圣诞节加油站没有人，只能用自动刷卡机刷卡。自动刷卡机要求有芯片的卡并且必须输入密码。我们信用卡都没有密码，而ATM卡又没有芯片。最后废了很多周折才把油加满。

We left Lake Tekapo and drove to a byway to Lake Mcgregor. It’s a pond with many waterfowls we cannot recognize. During the excursion, we passed a beautiful valley filled with wild flowers.

离开Tekapo湖我们往小道上开了一段时间开到了Mcgregor湖。不大的一个池塘，有不少叫不上名字的水鸟。还经过了一处开满了野花的山谷。

Turning to the north at Lake Pukaki, Mount Cook National Park is at the end of the road. Mount Cook is snow capped, with the peak elevation of more than 3,700m. The National Park is free, but very well maintained.

到了Pukaki湖再往北拐，开到头就是库克山国家公园。库克山是一座雪山，海拔3,700多米。国家公园不收门票，设施却非常完善。
