ILO Art for mankind Murals
I have done a couple of posts about a couple of the murals in progress in the Midtown East area of NYC between 48th and 42nd Steet, and promised to show the murals when they are completed, and have been waiting for the last one to be finished but the last one is still ongoing and is starting to look really cool so I will do a pos ton it when it is finished, and share the 4 completed murals in this post.
This one is on 45th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues on the side of the Indian Mission to the UN, not as colorful as some of the others but has such cool detail in it.

And here is another one which is on 44th ( I think) also between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, it has very subtle colors but awesome detail and shading

This is the first one I saw and saw it growing each day as I head to the office, and now it is complete, such vibrant colors and so eye catching I see people taking photos of it almost every morning I pass by it.

And here is the last completed piece i will share in this post, this one is on 48th Street between 2nd and 3Rd Avenues and is also a beautifully colorful and vibrant piece with such cool details

And finishing off with a progress shot of the fifth one of this series which as I mentioned earlier is not finished yet, and this shot was taken a week or so ago and has had a lot more added, so is a teaser for a future post when the work is completed.

I do love this project all the pieces are amazing and I am lucky to work here to see them all, the last one is now finished and initially I was not impressed by it but when the artist finished off with some really cool details I was so impressed by it, waiting for a sunny day to get shots of it

Howdy sir JJ! wow there's always so much great art in NYC! I take it the artists draw out the pictures before they paint them? surely they don't just start painting and everything is in perfect proportion and everything. I mean it's not like they can just step back from their easel and study it.
I know a couple of them had drawn them out one I saw a very detydrawing of it broken down into various parts
One other had a black in white outline that was the basis he worked on
But one of them I watched seemed to be doing it on the fly had no she thought that I saw was seemed to be doing it all from his head
Either way how they get the proportion right in this scale is amazing
Exactly JJ. I think you should take up that career when you retire. lol.
Ohh no I have no talent fir art like that I cannot even draw a stick figure lol 😂

Thanks I do love the third and fourth ones especially, but the one with the Eye which was just finished is amazing, funny thing is that one as it was going up wasnt impressing me but then when he added some detail I was blown away from it, just waiting for a sunny day to get shots of it
Cool can't wait to see the finished one. I'll have to research where the good chicago murals are though i think we have quite a few less than ny. I bet there's some in wicker park somewhere.
I am sure you will find some nice art there, I remember when I was planning to go to a conference there once i looked it up and they had some cool ones i was going to check up but then my plans changed and I didn't make it there

Lol... You have such gorgeous murals - they are all so cool but I do love the second VOX one; the 3rd is such an attention-grabber with its colours... if there is such a word! Looking forward to the completion of the last one...
I am lucky indeed so much cool street murals in the city, the last one is finished now, its one I was not so impressed with in its early stages, but the final details the artist added make it truly amazing , now I am just waiting for a nice day to get some shots of it
