Unlocking the Power of Chrome: Issue 22
Greetings Steemians! Welcome back to another issue of Unlocking the Power of Chrome.
The goal of this series is to help you "power-up" your browser by highlighting a new Chrome extension every other day that you might find useful.
The cool thing about extensions is they are easy to uninstall. If one I suggested just isn't for you, you can remove it just as easily as you added it. Remove most by simply right-clicking on the extension icon in the upper right menu area of Chrome and choosing remove.
Mercury Reader
The extension that I am going to cover today is Mercury Reader. You can add it to Chrome by going to the Chrome Webstore here. It is offered by PostLight who has a webpage here.
Do you frequently find it hard to focus on text within a webpage because ads or other distractions on the page make it very unreadable? Mercury Reader allows you to eliminate all of those distractions and display only the text and images of a page to give you a clean experience.
Here are some of the key features of Mercury Reader:
- One click disable of surrounding webpage "junk"
- Send the page you are viewing to Kindle
- Adjust font properties and themes
- Quick keyboard shortcuts
- Printing optimization
- Sharing via social media
If you are looking for an easier way to read "noisy" webpages, Mercury Reader might fit the bill for you. Take the time to add it to Chrome and see if it can help you absorb the information in those messy web pages easier.
